Sejong Korean, which has been completely revised by the National Institute of the Korean Language for the first time in 11 years, is a standard textbook for learners of Korean language and culture around the world.
《Sejong Korean》, which took four years to develop starting in 2019, has been reorganized into a customized textbook that can be flexibly utilized according to the local learning environment of Sejong Institutes around the world.
Additionally, we created the content to reflect the recent interest of foreign learners in Korean Wave content and to encourage their enthusiasm for learning Korean.
Sejong Korean thoroughly adheres to the 2020 Standard Korean Language Curriculum and language standards, while also considering multicultural diversity and gender sensitivity, thereby establishing itself as a representative textbook for the nation.
In addition, we have strengthened vocabulary and grammar explanations and examples of everyday communication, and supplemented practice activities to help learners thoroughly master the content.

“A wealth of supplementary material”
The specific features of the revised Sejong Korean language are as follows.
First, we divided it into ‘basic textbooks’ and ‘additional activity textbooks’ so that it can be flexibly used in all courses of Sejong Institute’s standard curriculum, Type A, Type B, and Type C.
The 'Basic Textbook' contains the core content required for the corresponding level, while the 'Plus Activity Textbook' contains language knowledge and communication activities that require in-depth and expanded knowledge.
This allows you to select and use teaching materials that suit the characteristics of various learners.
Second, to ensure effective teaching and learning, the unit structure was differentiated by stage, and the learning content and procedures were applied according to the stage of language development.
In particular, we have worked hard to maximize the interest in learning Korean by actively presenting various illustrations and visual materials.
Third, by embedding vivid Korean cultural content throughout the textbook, we aim to help learners understand Korean culture from a cross-cultural perspective and ultimately develop a sound attitude toward both their own culture and Korean culture.
Fourth, we developed supplementary materials such as a 'workbook', 'teacher's guide', 'vocabulary, expressions and grammar', and PPT for class along with the textbook, so that teachers and learners can utilize the textbook according to their needs.
