Secrets of Action
Description
Book Introduction
Even in the AI era, the last weapon that only humans possess,
It is 'action power'.
《The Secret of Action》 is not a self-help book that simply shouts, “Live hard.”
Author Lee Ha-yul proves the psychological principles of behavior through his own experiences of challenges, failures, and re-challenges over the past ten years.
The book dissects, through the language of psychology, brain science, and habit studies, why we fail to stick to our resolutions for more than three days and why we hesitate before facing our goals. It also presents a practical philosophy for being reborn as a "moving human."
The author says:
“It is only half true that your life can change if you change your thoughts.
“If your behavior doesn’t change, nothing will change.”
This book is a practical manual for creating that very 'turning point in action'.
It awakens the power of 'one small step' in readers who suppress themselves in the face of apathy, perfectionism, and the gaze of others.
And it shows us through experience that one step can ultimately change your entire life.
An era where AI writes sentences and algorithms replace human decisions.
The author says that now, more than ever, human 'self-determination' is important.
“AI can think, but it can’t act.”
Action is the last creative realm of human beings.
"The Secret to Action" goes beyond the limitations of self-help books and presents "anthropology in the AI era."

Into the book
We all want to live a better life.
But when I actually stand at a crossroads of decision, I waver because I don't know how to choose 'in my own way'.
In such cases, we habitually follow someone's advice, but the answer does not come easily.
Because the answer is not in the words outside, but in the ‘value’ that already resides within me.
Values are invisible, but they are the roots of life that explain “why I act that way.”
The reason why a tree with deep roots does not easily fall in any storm is because its invisible roots hold it firmly in place.
Our values are the same.
It may not be apparent on the surface, but it always supports me in the decisions I make and the paths I choose.
And the moment you clearly understand this value, your life changes.
--- p.74
But ignored feelings never go away.
Let's take an example.
I'm angry at my boss's unfair words at work, but I suppress it, saying, "Let's just hold it in and pretend nothing happened."
On the outside, it may seem fine, but later that evening, you may find yourself taking out your frustration on your family or binge eating alone to vent your anger.
It's the same in relationships.
If you cover up your feelings of resentment towards your lover by saying, “It’s nothing,” you will eventually explode over a trivial word.
The other person may be perplexed and ask, “Why are you so sensitive?” but in fact, that feeling was a signal that had been building up for a long time.
It also leaves a mark on your health.
If you suppress your anxiety or tension by saying, “It’s okay,” those feelings will return as insomnia, headaches, and chronic fatigue.
Ultimately, it is the body that speaks the emotions.
In psychology, this is called emotional suppression.
A study by James Gross of Stanford University reveals an interesting fact.
If you suppress your emotions, your body will become more tense, and eventually, it will come back as an even bigger reaction.
It's like the harder you press on a spring, the more it bounces back.
Freud also said in the same context:

The last and most essential step is feedback.
After 90 days, look back on the path you have taken and organize what you did well, what you regret, and what you need to improve in the future.
Positive psychologist Martin Seligman said, “Recognition built on achievement is what truly builds confidence.”
What I did well becomes proof that I can do it, what I regret becomes the possibility that I can grow further, and what I need to improve on leads to new strategies.
Even goals that seem daunting at first are more than half achieved or become habits after 90 days.
But more importantly, the self-confidence and self-esteem that builds up in the process.
It gives you the confidence that “I can do it” and the conviction that “I can still grow.”
Ultimately, the 90-90-1 rule is not just a simple time management method, but a surefire tool for developing perseverance and persevering through challenges to the end.

Publisher's Review
“Stop hesitating, life belongs to those who move.”
Laon Book defines "The Secret of Action Power" as "a book on practicing hyper-individualism in the AI era."
This book goes beyond self-help and explains the human behavioral system as a 'scientific structure.'
And the explanation can be summarized as follows:
First, the psychological foundation. Citing Martin Seligman's theory of "learned helplessness," it analyzes why people stop acting after failure. Second, the neuroscientific perspective. Focusing on the prefrontal cortex and the dopamine system, it explains "how motivation transforms into habits." Third, the social practice theory. It reinterprets Napoleon Hill's "mastermind group" theory in a modern way, expanding upon the value of "humans acting together."
In an era where AI can replicate all knowledge, the competitive edge that only humans can possess is the 'temperature of action.'
Lee Ha-yul emphasizes that the question "Why do we work?" is more important than "work-life balance," and that the answer is "work-life balance," or "making what you love your job."
《The Secret of Action》 is a comprehensive textbook on action that encompasses will, strategy, philosophy, and emotion.
