Into the book
Greatness never happens by accident.
Canadian psychology professor Jordan Peterson warns parents that making life too easy for their children can hinder their ability to develop resilience.
A lack of challenging work hinders children's growth.
What if you choose not to embrace a positive mindset or pursue greatness? What will become of your life? The outcome could vary, but ultimately, you'll be plagued by pain, sadness, loneliness, and a sense of victimhood.
Although you may seem to have a wonderful life on the outside (what you consider a successful life with family, children, cars, boats, travel, etc.), in reality, a truly meaningful life will just pass you by.
John Glenn, one of the first Americans to go into space and orbit the Earth, served several terms in the U.S. Senate and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2012.
At 77, he is the oldest astronaut to have been in space, and he said:
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my time on Earth, it’s that the happiest and most fulfilled people are those who are committed to something bigger and more profound than just their own interests.”

From “Discovery of Greatness”

A twenty-four-year-old man who dreamed of becoming a millionaire athlete but ended up returning home to his parents.
He took out his wallet and looked at how much money he had, wondering if there was any purpose left in his life.
A five dollar bill, a one dollar bill, and a few coins.
He lay on the bed, watched TV, and repeated the task of 'scrubbing old grime from every corner of the house with an all-purpose cleaner.'
After two weeks, he realized something.
“I realized there was another way for me.
The whole world will know my name.
I didn't know how, and I didn't know when it would happen.
But it was clear to me that being stuck in this small apartment, getting depressed and peeling off the dirt wasn't all there was to life." He decided to use his strong physique to become a professional wrestler.
So he asked his father, a former famous wrestler, to help him train, and he poured his patience and perseverance into his new mission.
To become great and have a great influence on the world in some way.
He learned show business skills as well as athletic skills, and eventually created a new persona that set new records.
He dominated the wrestling world, winning the world title every single year for seven years.
He finally accomplished his mission.
But it didn't end there.
Wrestler The Rock, real name Dwayne Johnson.
Thanks to his great showmanship, his mission turned into a bigger goal: breaking into Hollywood.

Step 1: From "The Enemy of Greatness"

Ray Dalio is also someone who has embraced failure and realized that it is pain, not joy, that makes us wise.
He suffered his biggest loss early in his career in the investment sector.
In 1981, he predicted that the U.S. economy would crash as a result of banks lending to people who couldn't repay the loans.
He also received a lot of attention when Mexico defaulted on its debt in 1982, proving his prediction correct.
He made a second prediction that a recession was not far off.
But a debt crisis did not occur and the stock market improved.
The point he predicted as the beginning of a market downtrend turned out to be a decline that was meant to lead to an uptrend.
He lost not only his own money but also his customers' money due to miscalculation.
Because I didn't have enough money to live on, I even had to borrow $4,000 from my father.
But surprisingly, Ray considers this failure the greatest stroke of luck that has ever happened to him.
Because I learned how to balance boldness and caution.
He grew by reflecting on his failures.
I started looking for smart people who had different opinions than me.
As a result, I learned to test my predictions more thoroughly before taking risks.

Step 2: From "The Barrier of Greatness"

Thoughts are the language of the brain, and emotions are the language of the body.
The mindset cycle works like this:
Thoughts talk to the brain, and emotions talk to the body.
When our thoughts are negative or connected to a painful past, it affects how we move and act in the present.
It further influences our future and the kind of people we become.
Dr. Joe Dispenza explains: “Some people have emotions that influence their thinking.
On the other hand, some people are more analytical and have thoughts that influence their emotions.
But emotions and thoughts are a cyclical loop.
This is the cycle of thought.” The question then is how to change the cycle of thought.
This is an important question that must be answered, as it is directly related to identity.
Right thoughts, feelings, and actions lead us to become the people we want to be.
Wrong thoughts, feelings, and actions keep us trapped.

Step 3: From “Great Mindset”

Have you ever seen Stephen Curry shoot a basketball? It's a work of art.
Curry's three-point shooting skills are truly amazing.
There's even a YouTube video of him making 105 consecutive three-point shots and then missing them for the first time.
What's his secret? A training routine that'll make your head spin.
Never rest.
The pre-game training is mind-boggling: shooting drills, footwork, endurance training, backwards correction, dribbling two basketballs at once, bouncing a tennis ball with one hand while dribbling a basketball with the other, even neurocognitive training using special goggles.
Of course, practice is very important, but even Steph Curry has to go out on the court and play.
You have been on a journey to get from where you are to where you want to be.
It was his own journey towards greatness.
I found a meaningful mission and a reason to fulfill it for the world.
Now you have to realize that there is a time to prepare and a time to act.
It is a fact that all the great people of the world know.
That's what this chapter will cover.
We'll dive into the game and explore practical ways to get into the flow state that Steph Curry talks about.
“The rhythm of the moment I throw the ball is always the same.
Honestly, I just throw it out there without thinking about it.

The Mindset Secrets of the World's Greatest Masters

18 Great Insights to Awaken the Giant Within You!

In this book, the author divides the 'Laws of Greatness' he discovered into 18 topics and explains how to find and put them into practice in 4 steps.

[Part 1.
In [The Discovery of Greatness], the author, who was dragged into the abyss of defeat, burdened with only worries and no purpose or mission, explains how he discovered the oxygen of hope and what triggered his rise to the surface.

[Part 2.
Step 1: The Enemy of Greatness] deals with the most common mistake that many people make when they miss out on their greatness: focusing on the “how” and losing sight of the “why.”
For those who are driven by the thoughts of 'I want to succeed quickly, I want to recover quickly, I want to make a comeback in one breath' and end up only pursuing the means, but end up losing sight of the goal and wasting energy in the wrong places, this explains why properly setting a 'mission' is more important than finding a good means.

[Part 3.
Step 2: Barriers to Greatness] addresses three barriers that stand in the way of the 'journey to greatness'.
'Fear of failure' makes you worry that one mistake will ruin you, 'fear of success' makes you anxious that you will fall after achieving success, and 'fear of what others think' makes you anxious that you will be ignored because you cannot live up to people's expectations.
The author suggests a '6-step training to overcome fear' to help you regain your self-confidence.

[Part 4.
Step 3: Great Mindset] explains the three steps needed to establish 'greatness' in my body and mind.
'Chapter 9: Healing the Past' explains psychological healing methods to overcome past trauma and develop a mature inner self, and 'Chapter 10: Finding Your Identity' points out what you need to do to determine your own identity, not someone else's.
Chapter 11: The Moving Mindset Cycle presents a method for finding your own "sweet spot" by harmoniously operating the three elements of thought, emotion, and action.

[Part 5.
Step 4: The Game Plan for Greatness] helps you get to the heart of greatness through five questions, emphasizes the sense of ownership that says, "I am my own captain," explains the importance of continuous challenges, how to write a mission statement for goal setting, and how to gather support.
It also highlights the importance of finishing something once started and the importance of properly acknowledging and celebrating your accomplishments.

From “Not Bad” to “Great”
“A mindset revolution that will completely change the course of your life!”

If you change your attitude, the trajectory of your life will change dramatically!

The author of this book, Louis Howes, was a man far from great.
As a promising teenager, he was a sports star who even set a world record for most receiving yards in a football game. However, after breaking his wrist during a game at the age of 22, he gave up and moved in with his older sister, wasting time worrying that he would never be able to return to his prime.

He became a completely different person when he started planning a podcast where he would meet with the world's best masters.
By learning from the insights and execution skills of those who have built a foundation for turning things around despite repeated failures and applying them to his own life, he has become a New York Times bestselling author, a speaker who earns thousands of dollars an hour, a podcaster with 500 million downloads, and a YouTuber with 345 million cumulative views.

The author argues that to leap from the realm of failure to the realm of greatness, one must break free from the mediocrity of "not bad," correctly identify the fears that block one's greatness, and continually train to embody greatness in body and mind. The author dedicates this book to his past self.
He said he was grateful to himself for having the courage to face all his pain head-on and learn to heal, even when it felt like there was no hope.
Because of my past self, I can be who I am today.
I hope and pray that the readers of this book will change their attitude right now and meet their great selves who have awakened from their slumber in the near future.
