Into the book
You can think of 'those who are doing well now' as having a fateful autumn.
Because autumn is the season of harvest.
On the other hand, if there is someone who is 'going through a tough time at the bottom right now', it would not be wrong to think that that person is going through the spring of destiny.
Because spring is a season of difficult creation.
This means that even though everyone lives in the same time zone, each person experiences a different season.
Through this book, you will be able to fully understand that those who are currently experiencing a fateful autumn appear to be winners, while those who are currently experiencing a fateful spring appear to be losers.
---From the "Preface"

But the author believes that after reading this book, we will realize that there is absolutely no reason to fear the life, the years, or the future that have been given to us.
You will come to realize that each life given to you is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest.
This very passage is the true purpose of this book.
---From the "Preface"

'Is there really a time?' 'Will my time come?' 'Isn't this just empty talk?' 'Isn't it something I have to actively create?' 'Life is something I create. Where in the world is there a time?' 'They say if you wait, your time will come, but is there any guarantee that it will?' In short, 'There is a time for everything.
---From "There is a time for everything"

The reason why the cycle of sunlight, or the rise and fall of sunlight, is important is because the cycle of all living things on earth is directly connected to it.
What we call fate, the very thing people find so ambiguous about its existence, is essentially the rhythm of life and the cycle of its energy, and the source of this cycle is the cycle of sunlight.

---From "When the pulse of life stops and then starts to stir again, Usui"

Farmers begin plowing their fields and paddies to sow seeds around the vernal equinox around March 20th, as the spring weather becomes stronger and the days of sunlight become longer.
Then, a month later, around April 20th, during the Grain Rain, rice seeds are sown in the seedbed, and another month later, around May 20th, during the Small Fullness, rice seedlings are planted.
Another month later, around June 20th, the summer solstice arrives, and the rice plants grow rapidly every hour under the bright sunlight of May or June.
At the same time, weeds are also growing wild, so we are busy weeding.
Then, another month passes and around July 20th, when the great heat arrives, the rice plants have grown tall enough that sometimes water is drained from the fields.
Another month later, around August 20th, when the first heat wave arrives, rice flowers bloom and pollination occurs immediately, forming ears of rice.
Another month later, around September 20th, the autumnal equinox arrives, and the rice paddies are covered in golden waves.
And around the 20th of October, when frost falls, rice harvesting begins, and only then can the hard work be rewarded.
Then, another month passes, and around November 20th, when the first snowfall comes, all the rice is brought into the warehouse, what needs to be sold is sold, the seeds are kept, and what is to be eaten is stored in the barn.
This marks the end of the year's farming, and the farmers begin their long winter rest.
This is the process of rice farming, but this is the flow of fate.
Your destiny is also to sow when it is time to sow, to reap when it is time to reap, and to rest when it is time to rest.
---From "Don't be a foolish farmer who plows the fields in July and August"

But what is more interesting is that when Gyeongchip arrives around March 5th, it is not only hibernating animals such as frogs and snakes that wake up and come out, but in fact, all things in heaven and earth wake up and come out.
And it's even more interesting when you know why it's surprising.
You may have often heard that people are surprised by the arrival of spring, but that is not the case at all.
Because if you hibernate any longer, you could end up sleeping forever due to shock from malnutrition.
Therefore, Gyeongchip is a time when people crawl out in a hurry, gripped by fear and terror that they might die if they stay like this any longer.
So, it is called Gyeongchip, using the character for surprise (驚).

---From "You have to become a hungry boxer to reform"

There is a time for everything.
And everyone has their own time.
That is why this world is extremely fair and just.
Another name for the world is nature, and nature is public and selfless.
That is why this world seems to be constantly absurd and unreasonable, but in reality, it continues to evolve and be reborn.
Therefore, the thought or feeling that the time or opportunity might not come to me is nothing more than impatience.
If you do what you can in your situation with sincerity and diligence, your time will eventually come.
This is a very cliché, but it means to do your best and leave the rest to fate.

---From "Don't be a foolish farmer who plows the fields in July and August"

There are times in life when we truly feel hopeless and fall into pessimism, thinking that there will never be any hope.
If you truly feel this way right now, you may be passing the winter solstice in your life.
The sun is light and light is hope.
If there's something in your life that seems most hopeless, it's your 'comrade in life.'

---From "Comrades and Comrades of Life"

Now, let's take another look at the four seasons of life that we talked about earlier.
Let's say your season is spring right now.
They say spring is the season of pioneering, but pioneering is easier said than done. How could it ever be easy? It's like heading into bare ground and digging, so of course it's going to be tough.
Well then, let's say it's summer.
Since it is said to be a time for ambitious management, of course there will be greed and enthusiasm, but reality does not always live up to people's expectations, so even in summer, there is always a sense of regret and inadequacy.
So I send it off grumbling.
Let's say it's autumn.
Autumn is the time when the efforts made so far bear fruit, and people tend to compare themselves to those around them.
Even if objectively the harvest is not small, the reality is that there will always be someone who has harvested more, a more abundant harvest, than me, and that too is dissatisfaction.
It may seem okay to others, but I personally don't feel satisfied with this.
If this is the harvest I get in the autumn of my destiny, then I even feel that life is too trivial.
That is why autumn is a season of harvest, but also a season of discontent.
It is true that our country achieved great success around 2004, when we were reaping the harvest of our national fortune, but the fact that the majority of the people were suffering from a sense of relative deprivation speaks to this very sentiment.
Let's say it's winter now.
It is said to be a season for reflection and contemplation, but the reality before our eyes strangely feels like the flow is gradually tilting, and it is a time of suffering and hardship due to a sense of regret, loneliness, and dissatisfaction with not being satisfied.
Spring is unhappy because it is hard to pioneer, summer is unhappy because it is greedy, fall is unhappy because it is not enough, and winter is unhappy because it is empty and regrettable.
If this happens, all years and lives will be unhappy and dissatisfied, regardless of luck.
That is why Siddhartha said that life is a sea of suffering, a ‘sea of pain.’

---From "Happiness has nothing to do with the flow of luck"

But I want to tell you that there is no need to be too afraid of the time and years ahead.
I believe that if the reader has faithfully understood and accepted the message of this book, he or she will already know that there is no need to worry too much about the future and that there is no reason to be overly fearful.
The author believes that if everyone born into this world realized that their time is theirs, they would also realize that there is nothing to fear about their own lives, and that, with time, they would also develop a mindset that can positively view life as a whole.
---From the “Conclusion”
