Description
Book Introduction
"Writing Life" is a book about the recorded life of a person who finds direction in life through writing, cultivates a more positive attitude in daily life, and moves forward with creative inspiration.
Artist Hayoung Kim, a space and record influencer who operates under the name 'Nondi' and has captured the hearts of 140,000 followers.
He experienced an incredible life transformation, from an ordinary office worker to a power influencer and founder of his own brand in just over a year through an Instagram account he created to share his interests.
And behind it all was a long-standing habit of keeping records.
In "Writing Life," the author reveals notes of his experiences that helped him discover his inclinations, strengths, and preferences, and establish the direction of his life.
In addition, it contains detailed record-keeping know-how by purpose and type, such as a record-keeping method for gathering inspiration and expanding ideas as a product designer, daily management of a 'record-lover' who maintains 11 notebooks, record-keeping methods for relaxation and healing, and how to use SNS for branding.
Additionally, it is a book that is enjoyable to just look at, filled with practical and useful information such as recording routines, desk decoration items, and online and offline image archiving, as well as images that stand out with their outstanding sensibility.
Photos of notebooks with actual records not only serve as good examples, but also provide strong motivation to start keeping records.
The author's to-do list notebook and work journal provide a great way to organize distracting thoughts and execute plans immediately without further procrastination.
It will serve as a solid guide not only for those who love records, but also for planners, creators, and those who want to discover themselves.

Into the book
I believe that what is written will come true.
When the new year comes, I write down things I want to accomplish and do that year. Even if it's something that seems a bit out of the blue, if it's something I'm interested in and want to do, I write it down.
If you write it down like this and look at it often, living each day, and later look at the record again, you will be surprised to see that you have actually accomplished more than you thought.
--- p.20, from “It Comes True as It Is Written”
I used to write down what I 'had to do', but sometimes it started to feel like a burden, so I changed my frame to thinking about what I 'want to do', and I was able to welcome the new month with a much lighter heart.
The funny thing is, even when I think, "This month wasn't that great," sometimes when I look back, I realize that it was actually quite fulfilling and I'm glad I did.
--- p.62, from “One Month Settlement Habits”
The key is not to just glance at it, but to observe and imagine it for a bit longer, as if something catches your eye, it means your emotions have reacted, and then to record it.
Even if you don't necessarily get any results, if you keep records in various ways, they will gradually accumulate and before you know it, you will have your own archive of inspiration.
--- p.75, from “Inspiration Comes from Records”
No matter how good the data is, it is useless if you just collect it.
At least once a week, I look over the images I archived that week.
You can stack them up and look at them later, but checking them periodically will help you remember them better and will also help you plant them in your subconscious so you can retrieve them when needed.
--- p.86, from “Image Archiving”
I shouldn't be conscious of whether what I like is 'good enough' to be seen by others.
Perhaps because I, too, am a Korean who grew up in a system of endless competition, I find myself trying to find the right answer even in the process of reflecting on myself.
Please put down your burden as this is something you don't have to worry about anyone else's opinion.
I hope you'll put your favorite drink next to you and take a moment to write it down.
All you need is paper and a pen.
--- p.125, from “What I Like Is Me”
There is no one in this world who can't do anything.
Of course, everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, so first find what you're good at and what you enjoy, and if you consistently record it, it becomes your personal brand.
The important thing is that it has to be as personal as possible.

The checklist of someone who does everything by record
It is often said that the habit of writing can change your life.
There is someone who has proven this long-standing proposition to be true.
This is the story of Kim Ha-young, a space and record influencer who has captured the hearts of 140,000 followers under the name 'Nondi'.
From an ordinary office worker to a power influencer and founder of his own brand in just over a year through an Instagram account he created to share his interests, behind this remarkable transformation was his long-standing habit of keeping records.
"Writing Life" is a book about the recorded life of a person who finds direction in life through writing, cultivates a more positive attitude in daily life, and moves forward with creative inspiration.
Based on the management of 11 notebooks that he consistently uses, he introduces in detail his record-keeping know-how by purpose and type, such as a record-keeping method for organizing life, a record-keeping method for rest and healing, a record-keeping method for collecting inspiration for creators, a record-keeping method for discovering myself, and a record-keeping method for branding.
In addition, it is a book that is enjoyable to just look at, filled with practical and useful information such as recording routines, desk decoration ideas, and online and offline image archiving, as well as images that stand out with their outstanding sensibility.
Part 1 introduces the basic principles of a documented life, along with methods for managing schedules, work, and mental healing. Part 2 reveals production notes detailing how to gather creative inspiration as a designer and the specific implementation process.
Part 3 helps you write your own experience notes to study yourself through records, and Part 4 introduces the entire process of starting a business, from planning to promotion of a small brand and SNS personal branding know-how.
This book will serve as a solid guide not only for those who love records, but also for planners, creators, and anyone seeking to discover themselves.
“Some records truly change lives.”
The most reliable tool for understanding myself, records
‘What are my tastes?’, ‘What kind of person am I?’ These are life questions that everyone has pondered at least once.
But there are probably not many people who have ever dug deep into themselves to find that answer.
You may have turned away because you didn't know how, or because you were too busy living in reality.
For these people, "Writing Life" shows that records can be an excellent tool for self-reflection.
The author says that after leaving his job in his late 20s, he was wondering how to live and realized for the first time that he knew nothing about himself.
As I always do when I have worries, I picked up a piece of paper and pen and began to look back on my life and write about myself.
By drawing a timeline of my life and writing down good experiences and memorable moments, I was gradually able to discover my own tendencies and strengths, and even my life goals and direction.
The book walks through this process in detail, making it easy for anyone to dig into the records themselves.
Through this record, you can analyze yourself, understand yourself, and even go further to realize your true goals and create a concrete roadmap.
“Just wondering, ‘What kind of person am I?’ and ‘What are my tastes?’ is already a big start.
We always try to find the right answer, but there is no set answer to taste.
Ask yourself and answer the question, “When do I feel happy? When do the moments that excite me?” - From the text
Organize distracting thoughts and improve your execution power
The power of records to make imagination a reality
“Even when I sketch, I often feel like I’m thinking with my fingers.
“I have faith that as the pen goes to the paper, it will become the flow of my consciousness and guide me to a better path.” - From the text
Records have two properties: 'radiating what is inside me out' and 'holding external information inside me'.
As a product designer, the author manages records of both online and offline properties.
In particular, the recording method he uses to collect inspiration provides creators and planners with practical ideas that can be applied immediately in real life.
In addition to keeping an inspiration notebook to record anything that comes to mind, you will also learn how to systematically archive and regularly manage visual materials such as product tags and pamphlets, and images found online, and how to store and utilize eye-catching images when you discover them. This is the know-how of an experienced designer who has long-established a habit of recording.
For creators who can easily lose focus in the face of overwhelming information, it provides key insights to create meaningful results through creative inspiration.
Above all, 『Writing Life』 offers the pleasure of encountering various methods of recording through the introduction of 11 notebooks written by the author.
Photos of notebooks with actual records not only serve as good examples, but also provide strong motivation to start keeping records.
The author's to-do list notebook and work journal provide a great way to organize distracting thoughts and execute plans immediately without further procrastination.
The author says that the results of his consistent records show his past, present, and future self.
Through records, you will gain a deeper understanding of your inner self, discover your true self, and through this, you will have the opportunity to grow further.
