Criminal psychology
Description
Book Introduction
This book is largely divided into three parts.
First, Part 1, Crime and Psychology, examines the various subfields of psychology that explain crime, focusing on social psychology and clinical psychology, which are most closely related to understanding and explaining criminal behavior.
The second part, Major Crime Types and Psychology, focuses on the most serious crimes among various types of crimes, such as murder and sexual crimes. It also looks at sexual murder, which has never been introduced in Korea, and sexual crimes against children, which have recently caused extreme concern in our society.
In addition, we looked into the crime of 'robbery', one of the most violent crimes, along with 'random crime (with strange motives)', which has recently caused extreme fear in our society.
In particular, this revised edition explores the crime of stalking, along with 'dating violence', which has recently been attracting attention as a serious social problem.
In the final Part 3, Criminal Investigation and Psychology, we looked at criminal profiling, an investigative technique that analyzes crime scene behavior to help apprehend criminals, and linkage analysis, an investigative technique that analyzes behavioral similarities between crimes, particularly in the case of serial crimes, to determine whether they are the same criminal.
