Book Introduction
Stories of our language, writing, and history unfolding in the classroom

This book aims to help middle and high school Korean language teachers confidently and interestingly teach Hunminjeongeum and Korean language history.
To achieve this, professional researchers, teachers, and prospective teachers worked together to first understand the positions of students and teachers.
And based on that understanding, I presented educationally important content related to the history of our language and writing in the form of a travel story in the form of questions and answers.

First, regarding the history of the Korean language, we have prepared a train trip starting from modern Korean, then modern Korean, then medieval Korean, and finally ancient Korean.
Carefully selected questions and their answers will help you understand the dynamism of the Korean language by presenting linguistic data and interesting examples of linguistic phenomena that demonstrate the characteristics of the Korean language in each era.
Korean is not a complete language, but a language that is still in the process of being completed.

Next, we prepared an air trip to explore the history of our language, starting from the distinction between language and letters, and exploring the details of the notation of borrowed characters and Hunminjeongeum.
This trip will allow you to see how profound a world Hunminjeongeum, which we often mistakenly believe we know well, is and how many stories the Hangeul we use today has accumulated over a long period of time.
At the end of the book, we've included a helpful classroom bookshelf for teachers to use.
In preparation for the class, I have compiled various information related to old words and documents to help you understand the history of our language and writing more deeply.
