The Steel Structure Limit State Design Standard (1997) was established as a steel structure design standard.
As mentioned above, in April 2005, the design standards related to building structures were integrated into the Building Structure Design Standards (KBC2005), and SI units were adopted in line with the trend of internationalization.
In 2009, the name of the Building Structure Design Standard (KBC2005) was changed to Building Structure Standard (KBC2009) and the contents were revised.
In addition, in 2009, the Korean Society of Steel Construction established the Steel Structure Design Standard (2009) based on the Load Resistance Factor Design Method that integrated the fields of architecture and civil engineering, and it was revised in 2014.
The building structural standards were revised to KBC2016 in 2016, and the new KS standards for steel were reflected in KBC2016.
