Dr. Hall's Joseon Reminiscences
Description
Book Introduction
A revised edition of 『Dr. Hall's Joseon Reminiscences』, published in 2003.
This book is the autobiography of Dr. Sherwood Hall, who was born to a married couple of doctors who dedicated their lives to missionary work in Korea, and later came to Korea with his wife, also a doctor, as a medical missionary, where he spent 16 years.
The story of the Hall family, from the end of the Joseon Dynasty to just before the outbreak of World War II, contains not only the tremendous achievements they made in medical care, missionary work, and education in this land, but also the beautiful, funny, and even heartbreaking episodes they experienced here.
In particular, this revised edition has been completely supplemented with rare photographic materials from the time that were in the original book, and has been meticulously revised and supplemented by comparing it with the original book from beginning to end.
I hope that through this book, the people of this land will once again remember the love and devotion for Korea and its people, and the faith that Sherwood Hall and his wife Rosetta Hall, who wished to be buried in this land even after death, had.
