Our Eundong
Description
Book Introduction
The simple and heartbreaking days of Grandma Kim Ok-i and our Eundong.
Grandma Kim Ok-i lives in a small, cozy, and cozy village on the outskirts.
He worked hard and raised his three children well, sent them off to get married, and now he lives alone and leisurely.
Then one day, a puppy appeared out of nowhere and jumped into the grandmother's chest! The puppy was so skinny and shaggy that it seemed to have lost its way or been abandoned by someone, so the grandmother felt sorry for it and took it home.
But as I carefully washed and fed it and played with it like a baby, I soon became very attached to it.
‘Euncheol, Eunsuk, Eunsil… Eundong, your name is Eundong, our youngest Eundong!’ When the grandmother, who had decided to live together with her, named her Eundong and called her, the poor puppy who had been wandering the streets became ‘our Eundong,’ as pretty as a flower.
Our Eundong, who was our grandmother's baby, has grown up so quickly, goes to school, falls in love, experiences separation, and lives her own life to the fullest.
Yet, he never left his grandmother's side for even a moment.
We go to the market together, watch dramas together, exercise together, and when I'm sick, I worry about you and stay by your side all night...
Eundong and Grandma, who have become each other's closest and most precious companions, living together every day, giving each other strength to get through each day, and giving each other a reason to live! To Grandma, Eundong is love.
You will always be my grandmother's little, pretty baby.
To Eundong, her grandmother is love and her whole world.

Publisher's Review
Our Eundong will always be grandma's baby.
Artist Kim Seon-jin is an artist who delicately and dreamily depicts the very small and trivial details of our neighbors and ordinary days.
Moments that we easily overlook and pass by without giving them much thought are given new life through the author's warm gaze.
The ordinary days show us that our lives, where little things pile up, are always shining brightly.
So, even without any grand twists or flashy excuses, the daily lives of Eundong and her grandmother caring for each other convey a gentle emotion to us.
Today, when even opening my eyes was difficult, reminds me of the value of the being who is always by my side.
No matter how much time passes, just as Eundong will always be a lovable baby to her grandmother and a baby who deserves to be loved, this day that comes to me every day makes me promise to cherish and tenderly care for someone who stays by my side.
I live with my eternal baby puppy, Haru, who is twelve years old.
We always stay by each other's side.
I can tell just by looking at your eyes.
When you're sad, lick your tears, and when you're happy, dance your hips together.
From the day I was a baby to the day I grew up to be a friend of my age and then a grandfather.
We created this book by taking walks together every day.
-Introducing author Kim Seon-jin
The cute and lovable image of Grandma Kim Ok and our Eundong reflects the image of all companion animals, including the author, who is Haru's mother. However, animals aren't just toys to be played with, so they don't always have fun and enjoyable moments.
It also calmly shows the affectionate heart of a companion who watches over the process of his or her pet growing from a baby to a friend to an old age much older than himself or herself.
It is a being that can communicate without words, and teaches unconditional love while expressing love infinitely. It also contains a warm heart that hopes that such beings will not be abandoned and become 'someone's Eundong.'
