with the story of how her life changed from an unknown person to an influential author and speaker who heals hearts around the world (she has been selected as one of the '100 Most Influential many synchronicities she experienced at the time. She realizes that the reason she often feels drained and burned out while healing people (and the reason she had cancer in the past) is because of her empathic nature (especially her extraordinary ability to empathize), which allows her to absorb the pain and energy of others, and kindly shares how empaths can proudly love themselves and be a light that brightens the world.

You can preview some of the book's contents.
Preview

index

Wayne Dyer's Foreword ―8
At the beginning of the book -15

Part 1.
Lost in the world

Entering: The Day I 'Died' - 20
1.
A unique environment -25
2.
Many Religions, Many Paths -39
3.
What's wrong with me? ―48
4.
Meeting Your Soulmate - 59
5.
The Disease of Fear - 75
6.
In Search of Salvation -88

Part 2.
A Journey to Death

7.
Going to the Other Side of the World ―102
8.
Something infinite and fantastic - 123
9.
A Miracle Happens - 133
10.
Evidence of Healing from Illness - 146
11.
“It was absolutely impossible to survive!” ―157
12.
New Eyes, New Life - 174
13.
Finding My Way - 183
14.
Healing is not an end, but a beginning—196

Part 3.
Things I learned

15.
Why I Got Cancer and Got Better - 214
16.
Infinite Self and Cosmic Energy - 232
17.
A Life of Permission - 251
18.
Questions and Answers - 267

Concluding Remarks -304
10th Anniversary of Publication: The Story Behind It - 307
Acknowledgments -348

Into the book

It didn't feel like I had 'physically' gone anywhere else.
I guess it would be more accurate to say I 'awakened'.
My soul was finally realizing its true, magnificent self!

“I expanded and became one with everything, and I knew that heaven was not a ‘place’ but a ‘state.’”

“As I delved deeper into the other world and expanded outward, I became everything and everyone.
It didn't feel like I had 'physically' gone anywhere else.
It would be more accurate to say that I 'woke up'.
My soul expanded beyond this space and time into another realm and at the same time included it.
Love, joy, ecstasy, and awe poured into me, and I was lost in it.
I felt freer and more alive than ever before.
And I suddenly 'knew' things that were physically impossible." (From Chapter 7, 'Going to the Other Side of the World', in this book)

Anita said that in her near-death state, she had a perfect 360-degree field of vision and that time was not linear, but felt like past, present, and future were all happening at the same time.
Again, if you give consciousness to either side, everything related to it will appear right before your eyes.
I felt connected to everything, or rather, one with everything, not separate from it.
I realized that heaven is not a concept of a 'place' but a 'state of being', and I knew that I was in that 'state' right now.

In her near-death state, Anita encounters the essence of her deceased father and also encounters the essence of her close friend who died first from cancer.
“My conversation with my father was not verbal, but we became completely one and understood each other.
“It was not just ‘understanding’ what my father said, it was like I was ‘becoming’ him,” says Anita (from Chapter 8, ‘Something Infinite and Fantastic’).
There was no sign of her father, who treated Anita as if she were a social misfit, as she resisted the submissive life of an Indian woman.
The values they held while alive were no longer a problem after death, and only unconditional love filled their relationship.

Anita uses the metaphor of a large tapestry made up of colorful threads to illustrate how everyone is connected.
Each of us is a thread weaving a great tapestry, a facet of the same whole.
Therefore, for the whole picture to be complete, every person and every thing is necessary, without exception? was because he didn't love himself and was afraid to tell his truth.
And that fear and lack of self-love soon manifested itself in the form of a physical illness called full, majestic power because of fear, manifested itself as cancer.” (From Chapter 15, “Why I Got Cancer and Got Well”)

Anita experienced on a soul level that as long as she sought love and acceptance outside herself, and pursued happiness, it could never be fulfilled.
When what empowers us comes from outside ourselves, life is bound to be filled with fear.
Because my health, my success, and my happiness are all determined by someone outside of me.
Anita realizes through her near-death experience that when we seek not having what we want.
They do not seek love, acceptance, or happiness outside of themselves.
“I no longer pursue anything.
It's just 'allowed'.
If I try hard to pursue what I want, I will only strengthen the separation.
“In contrast, ‘allowing’ means knowing that we are all one, that everything is connected, and therefore that what I desire is already within me.” (From Chapter 17, ‘The Allowing Life’)

Anita says that all we have to do to become our true selves is to love ourselves.
What Anita learned through cancer was to love herself.
The more you value and love yourself, the stronger your immune system becomes and the less likely you are to develop cancer.
Loving yourself means examining your emotions and living truthfully with them, following your passions and living fearlessly, and above all, enjoying life.
Rather than thinking, "How can I do this?" or "How can I achieve that?", ask yourself, "How would I feel if I made this choice?" or "How am I feeling right now?" and choose something that gives you a positive "feeling."

Anita further states that loving oneself means loving others and healing the Earth.
“Because we are all connected, if one person is happy, that happiness cannot help but reach others, uplifting them and helping them to recover.
“When we heal others, we also heal ourselves and this planet.”
