Description
Book Introduction
A sophisticated old tale meets a thrilling play!
Welcome to K-Old Story Restaurant!

“Once upon a time, there lived a man in Ongdang Village, Ongjin-gol. His surname was Ong and his first name was Gojip.
His temper was so bad that people frowned at everything he did.
His stubbornness was as strong as a whale's sinews, so no one could stand up to him.
He was so angry that even Nolbu couldn't keep up with him.
But then, right in front of that stubborn person, a fake stubborn person that looked exactly like the stubborn person suddenly appeared!
Even the mole next to the belly button was the same.
Oh, what will become of Onggojip now? Now, shall we dive into the real Onggojip story? "Hey!" The classics, which we longed to approach but felt distant, have met the genre called "play."
Read a delightfully adapted classic in your own voice, with your own body.
It will become a classic that you will find yourself reading because it is fun.

Publisher's Review
1.
Kill two birds with one stone with this meticulously crafted collection of plays: theater classes and classics classes!

Both children and parents agree that our classics, rich in the culture and history of our ancestors and the wisdom accumulated over a long period of time, are important. However, they are also often considered old-fashioned due to their outdated expressions, Chinese characters, and outdated ways of thinking.
I'm also at a loss as to how to study theater classes.
The 'Learning Our Classics through Plays' series, which combines classics and plays, was designed to allow children to enjoy and experience these two curricula.

To make it a play that children can enjoy, we have included a friendly introduction of the characters, background, necessary props, and sound effects, and we have adapted it into a pleasant story and used spoken language to make it a classic that children can enjoy reading.
The stylish and cute illustrations included in each chapter can be a reference for children when setting up a stage, making masks for characters, or creating props.
Now, try your hand at a play with ‘Learning Our Classics Through Plays.’
It will be a fun time to kill two birds with one stone: classics and theater.

2.
Learn the background and meaning of classic works in detail! Go, go, into the classics!

The 'Learning Our Classics through Plays' series was researched and written to provide an in-depth understanding of various classics.
In “Heungbu is Amazing,” an adaptation of the pansori novel “Heungbu and Nolbu,” there are lines that utilize pansori, and pansori was also used for sound effects.
As children perform the play, they can learn how pansori expresses the same part of the content.
In “I Am the Best,” an adaptation of “The Story of Seven Sisters in Gyujung,” Malttugi, who satirizes the incompetence of the nobles in Bongsan Talchum, and the Samulnori troupe, who livens up the play, appear, and in “Give That Nobleman a Dog!”, an adaptation of “The Tale of the Yangban,” Chorangi leads the play.
You can learn both classical and dramatic genres, as well as a new genre called talchum.
Also, at the end of each series, the background and meaning of each work are meticulously included.
Now, enjoy a colorful reading of classics with the 'Learning Our Classics through Plays' series!
