Into the book
The plain fact is that far more jobs will disappear than will be created.
As a natural consequence, we will be living in a world where mass unemployment will persist for some time to come.
Therefore, it is not important what kind of job you get, but what kind of work you do that is more important.
In this world, human intelligence and artificial intelligence may be fierce competitors, clashing and opposing each other, but they can also be partners who open up a new world through complementation and cooperation.
Perhaps artificial intelligence is better suited to 'high tech' jobs, that is, jobs that utilize cutting-edge technology, while human intelligence is better suited to 'high touch' jobs, that is, jobs that serve as a bridge between humans.

So what should we do going forward? What should our children be interested in as they grow up? What role and responsibility should the current generation of parents play in shaping the future of their children? How deeply are we approaching this issue, which no one can avoid? I wrote this book to answer these questions and explore alternatives.
It is incredibly frightening to knock on the door of a future world where you have no idea what it will look like.
But I believe that as we continue to make these attempts, we will be able to glimpse the future through the cracks in the door that are gradually opening.
I believe that there is no greater honor than if I can be of some help to the future lives of readers through my attempts to diagnose the future and suggest my own prescription, even if it is only a small one.
--- p.8-9

Even individuals cannot just stamp their feet and do nothing.
Perhaps the ones who will be hit hardest are the uncompetitive individuals.
In the future, individuals who can read and understand the changes in future society will do well.
Now, individuals with even a modest level of competitiveness may be assigned only tasks that fall short of expectations.
There may be no jobs at all, or only minimum wage jobs may be available.
Things may be okay now, but in 20 years, you will face an environment that has changed beyond recognition.

No matter what government comes into power, it will be impossible to avoid the current high unemployment.
Rather than just blaming the government, it is more important for individuals to read the trends of the times and prepare in advance.
As history has always shown, when the world changes, some people fall while others rise.
Everyone is aware of the changes in the world.
However, the way people deal with things is different between those who try to ignore it and those who try to face it head on.
For those who try to avoid it, a dead end will likely appear, but for those who try to overcome it, a new path will appear.
Accordingly, each person's destiny will take a very different path.
--- p.75-76

We all face a point at which we must retire from what we are doing now.
Retirement can also be involuntary, imposed by others.
But I could also declare my own retirement.
Retirement from work, whether voluntary or involuntary, is undoubtedly a major turning point in life.
But retiring from work doesn't mean retiring from life.
Until we die, we must live in perpetual active service.
Life after retirement is divided into two paths.
One is the life that one faces after being forced to retire without any particular plan.
This is the most difficult time.
Life will only become more and more miserable unless someone continues to lend a helping hand.
Another is to choose retirement myself and take charge of the life I want.
So how exactly can such a life be achieved? Let's explore the specific methods now.

This inevitably has implications for the future of jobs.
The jobs we will be working in in the 21st century are different in many ways from the jobs we had in the 20th century.
Only by understanding these trends and flows can we figure out how to make a living in this new world while simultaneously pursuing the financial and temporal freedom we dream of.
We must not overlook the possibility that unexpected opportunities may arise in fields that were previously unimaginable.
Because a very attractive job could be created for me there.
--- p.120-121

In order to integrate consumption into marketing, an understanding of network marketing must come first.
Because, in our society, there is no other business that has been as popular as network marketing.
Although network marketing is one of the existing marketing methods, some people turn their heads at the mere mention of its name, and the majority of people have a very negative view of network marketing.
There's a good reason for that.

First of all, many people still do not properly distinguish between legitimate network marketing and illegal pyramid schemes.
Illegal pyramid schemes are a terrifying criminal activity that exploits the unique organizational structure of network marketing to cause enormous financial losses to people and even destroy families and relationships.
In the past, many people have suffered financial and emotional damage due to these illegal pyramid schemes.
Also, through stories told by these victims, people around them know that it is an illegal pyramid scheme, network marketing, or something like that.
Due to these biases and misunderstandings, network marketing has a very strong negative image.
--- p.145-146

Rather than thinking that the prime of your life has already passed or has not yet arrived, think of this moment as the highlight of your life and establish today as a time that cannot be wasted.
I live my life thinking that this is the peak of my life, so would I want to waste this time carelessly?
Wouldn't you try to design your time to be more valuable and meaningful?
I believe that such efforts themselves serve as midwives who make today's life enjoyable and fun.
I think today could be the prime of anyone's life.
If each day like that continues, the prime of life can continue from now until death.
Anyone can live their present and future lives more valuable and fulfilling than ever before, if they put their mind to it.

In addition, if you live with the added bonus of financial freedom and time freedom, what life could be more beautiful and blessed than that?
If we are building a wealth replication system right now to achieve such economic freedom, wouldn't that in itself be a satisfying life?
And wouldn't it be the icing on the cake if, rather than spending all my time trading it all for money, I could give myself time to become a better me?
Why can't we live like that?
Can't we all live that way, depending on our own will?
Isn't the reason we came to this world to live like this, finish our picnic, and return to our noble and humble lives with a carefree heart?

Publisher's Review
The era where consumption becomes a profession is coming!
Prosumer Marketing Success Strategies: Earn Money While Spending

Earn money by spending money?
Talking about a new job that makes 'consumption' a 'job'

"Consumption is a Job" depicts the economic changes in our society through the eyes of an economist, and in line with this, strongly proposes participatory consumers, or "prosumers," as "work" rather than "jobs."
A prosumer is someone who spends money and earns money by not only being a consumer but also acting as a producer and distributor.
The author shares a successful strategy for becoming a prosumer, a promising career, and examines the essentials for achieving both financial and temporal freedom.

The book is divided into four parts.
Part 1, “Eyes on the World,” discusses the rapidly changing world.
We will tell the story using specific examples of what is changing and how it is changing, and what the characteristics of that change are.
In Part 2, “Then How Should We Live?” we examine what kind of mindset and strategy are needed to survive in this world.
Although the changing environment is the same for everyone, the way we cope with it is different for each person.
However, from the perspective that all humans want to escape the bonds of life and pursue freedom, it discusses the true nature of that freedom.

In "Part 3: Prosumer Marketing," we take a closer look at one of the alternatives: "prosumer marketing."
Prosumer marketing is a new business model that creates jobs through consumption and even allows for economic freedom.
Based on theory and experience, we examine the values and core of prosumers.
The final chapter, "In Search of Temporal Freedom," discusses what mindset and what to keep in mind to enjoy temporal freedom along with economic freedom.
It also talks about how to reach the prime of life.

The 100-year lifespan, artificial intelligence, the world has changed!
Can I trust my life to my job?

The era of working hard for a long time at work to prepare for retirement is coming to an end.
It is said that many jobs we know will soon disappear.
At the heart of the 'job apocalypse' are several keywords.
The 100-year lifespan, artificial intelligence (AI), the 4th industrial revolution…
Life expectancy is increasing, but the biggest worry is money, as people are pushed out of their jobs by robots.
I sigh as I wonder what kind of work I should do and until what age I should live without worrying about money.

The good news is that our society is moving toward an era where 'work' rather than 'jobs' is becoming more important.
The weight is shifting from 'work' to 'career', from employment to 'start-up', and from employment to 'start-up'.
There is no need to risk your life for academic background.
It's a world where what you study at university is of little use once you graduate and enter society.
The author emphasizes that we must read and have insight into the changes in society.
It is time to look at the flow of the world and find something that has never existed before.

There are two major things to consider when planning a career or even a life success strategy.
Economic freedom and time freedom are the two.
If you can't escape the economic shackles, too many problems will plague your life.
Achieving financial freedom is the first and foremost challenge in life.
Temporal freedom is the freedom to spend my time whenever I want.
It is not about exchanging time for money, but the freedom to use time as you wish, regardless of money.
So what can we do to kill both birds with one stone?

Evolving into Smart Consumers and Prosumers
Economists Explain Prosumer Marketing's Success Strategies

A rich person is someone who has set up a system to always have money flowing out, regardless of work.
It is the so-called means of wealth duplication.
Prosumers are people who have found this system in their ‘consumption style’.
Rather than just spending money unilaterally, it is 'consumption that earns money while spending money'.
The term 'prosumer' has become widely used since it was first used by futurist Alvin Toffler over 40 years ago.
However, there are still not many people who recognize it as a profession and know it properly.

Prosumers do not spend money unilaterally.
Make spending money a source of money.
An economic entity that simultaneously engages in production activities that earn money while also engaging in economic activities that involve spending money.
This kind of idea didn't exist until recently.
But now he is increasing more and more.
According to 2018 statistics, there were 9.03 million registered members in network marketing companies, with total sales exceeding 5 trillion won (announced by the Fair Trade Commission in July 2019).

The author says that to succeed as a prosumer, you must first and foremost live a changed life.
Without human maturity, you can never be trusted by your partners.
Moreover, prosumer marketing is a 'war of attrition' rather than a 'war of speed', so you need to abandon impatience and invest time and effort to create a stable group.
The invisible force at work here is awareness of this matter.
Rather than simply viewing it as a business that makes money, it's about clearly recognizing the mission that runs through your life and business so that your life and business move in the same direction.

The author says that the next 10 years will be a period of revival for prosumer marketing in our country.
In a situation where many changes are inevitable in people's lives, including jobs, it is predicted that many people will open their hearts and consider this matter proactively.
This book will be a good guide for readers who are curious about the already-beginning flow of change and the world of prosumers.
