Let's do yoga with pictures: I'm curious about yoga
Description
Book Introduction
“With the desire to do well, with the intention of just doing it.”

The reason I first started practicing yoga was because of the challenge and sense of accomplishment from doing wonderful asanas.
But as time went on, there came a time when my body couldn't keep up, and the frustration and pain started to outweigh the joy.
During that time when I was wandering around because yoga wasn't going as planned, I came across a single solution.

“Just do it! Just do it.”
This simple teaching I encountered during my Jeju retreat completely changed my attitude towards yoga.
Freed from the desire to 'do well', yoga has become a natural part of my daily life.
Even when my heart wavers, even when the wind blows and the lake ripples, I can now breathe and wait without getting impatient.

This book is a record of that change, and a story of the enlightenment discovered through yoga, told through pictures.
This is a warm experience and record of empathy for those who dream of great asanas, those who feel tired and shaken while practicing yoga, and all those who want to know yoga more deeply.

Yoga is not about trying to get better, it's about just doing it.
Now, let's start practicing yoga together, lightly and enjoyably. Let's create a strong and balanced life.

Publisher's Review
At first, it was a challenge and a sense of accomplishment.

The thrill, competitiveness, and passion of performing great asanas.
When I started practicing yoga, the greatest joy was the sense of accomplishment I felt from moving my body.
But as time went on, yoga became more and more burdensome as I faced the pressure and limitations of having to 'do better'.

Times of shaking and wandering

There were times when I got injured while practicing yoga and was frustrated because things didn't go as planned.
When yoga wasn't going my way, I still stood on the mat, drawing and looking up yoga books.
And then I realized.
Yoga is not about being good at it, it's about just doing it.

Changes that come with breathing

Yoga is stopping the movement of the mind.
At first I couldn't understand it, but as time went by, I began to experience its meaning through my breathing.
I learned to not suppress my wavering emotions, but to simply watch and wait.

Now, yoga is a natural part of our daily lives.

Beyond just wanting to do well, yoga has now become a part of my daily routine.
Even when the wind blows without warning and the lake shakes, I learned to breathe without being impatient and wait for it to calm down.
Now, I want to share this story with anyone who wants to face themselves through yoga.

A fascinating, relatable, and enjoyable yoga story.
Shall we start together?

[Author's Note]

Why do you like yoga?

What first drew me to yoga was the challenge, competitiveness, passion and sense of accomplishment of doing amazing asanas.
After a whirlwind of time on the mat, my heart races and I feel truly happy.
The breeze gently sways, the lake's waves sparkle, and the clouds flutter, making it feel like a picnic in a perfectly beautiful setting! But when I enrolled in an instructor class and began studying yoga, the definition I learned was "stopping all mental activity." Huh? Stopping the mind and becoming nothing but zero? Why?

I wrote down the meanings I couldn't relate to, but I put them aside and continued to focus on asanas. When I was injured and couldn't practice yoga, I drew pictures of yoga, looked up yoga books, and stood on the yoga mat steadfastly through all the ups and downs.
I wanted to do well, but I felt the limits of my innate abilities, and I was endlessly frustrated. The joy and happiness that yoga initially gave me gradually disappeared, and the pain and suffering increased.

At a time when I was frustrated because yoga wasn't going as planned, I started training with Master Han Ju-hun in Jeju, and the solutions he gave me were the same for all my worries.
"Just do it! Just do it." The solution, which felt more difficult than the word yoga, is now to stop the movement of the mind.
This book bears fruit.
Yoga, which used to be done with the goal of “wanting to do well,” has now become a natural part of my daily life.

My heart still feels like it's being blown by the wind and the lake ripples and sparkles without warning, but even in such a wonderful(?) scenery, I've learned to close my eyes, breathe, and wait for the lake to become calm.
By chanting the mantra Omnamashivaya! which is said to ward off evil.

Now, we begin with yoga stories that started out of curiosity but are interesting, fun, enjoyable, and relatable.
Shanti!
