Publisher's Review
“Today we are going to make our own very cool tour.”
The most Korean, the brightest Christmas!

What did Christmas trees look like during the Joseon Dynasty?
An Exciting Invitation from Yeon-su, the Author of "Strange Day" and "Strange Zoo"

Our own unique and wonderful 'Turi', colorful and sparkling
The first Christmas of the lovely Joseon Dynasty five

There is a ship that travels the wider world and returns to port.
As the land of Joseon appears in the distance, the upper child heads to the deepest part of the cabin to search for something.
The first thing he wants to show his friends he hasn't seen in a long time is none other than the Christmas tree he saw in a country across the ocean! He chats about this and that, introducing them to his new culture.
Even in winter, they hang colorful, sweet, and shiny things on green trees, and call it 'Turi', wishing for peace throughout the world.
The friends who listened to the story with excited faces, as if something had come to mind, decided to create their own tour together.
The five people of the Joseon Dynasty, Sangdan, Suksu, Dongjaseung, Aessi, and Gomdoryeong, always start from the general store full of beautiful and mysterious items, to the fresh fruit store filled with the sweet smell of fruits, and even the mountain temple full of hope, and collect items to make a tour.
Every time you turn the page, a tranquil yet fantastical scene from the Joseon Dynasty unfolds before you.
Now that you've stocked up on all the bright and shiny things, let's head into the forest. It might be a long journey, but it'll be alright if we're all together.
What will the first Christmas of the Joseon Dynasty's five be like? Follow their dazzling journey with a pounding heart.

This winter, the most Korean and most beautiful Christmas unfolds!
A new Christmas picture book filled with our culture

Imagine the vibrant lights, beautifully wrapped gifts, and colorful tree decorations—all of these exciting Christmas scenes.
When did Christmas, the quintessential winter holiday, first come to us? Was it the same 100 years ago as it is today? Author Yeonsu uses her rich imagination to invite readers into a Joseon-era Christmas.
Instead of round beads, hang patchwork pincushions and colorful norigae, instead of gingerbread cookies, hang sweet jade sticks and taffy, and instead of twinkling light bulbs, hang brightly lit lanterns.
Finally, when you place a lantern on top of the tree, a bright, warm light spreads, wishing peace to the whole world.
Our own unique and wonderful tour, filled with our own unique charm and five-color hues! While its appearance may be new, our wish for peace to fill the world remains unchanged.
A new Christmas picture book that embraces our beautiful culture will make your Christmas even more special.
All together, 'Our Nuri Christmas!'

“I wanted to draw the most special and unique Christmas tree.”
A new work by artist Yeonsu, who captures ordinary moments in a fantastic way.

Artist Yeonsu, who has always been loved for her work that offers a fresh perspective on familiar landscapes and blurs the lines between imagination and reality, meets readers with her third picture book.
This work combines the artist's unique, delicate drawing style of layering with a thin pen with a historical background full of things to see and a joyful and happy imagination.
To bring 'Christmas in the Joseon Dynasty' to life, the author spent a long time collecting materials and conducting preliminary research.
In fact, there are records that Christmas was first introduced around 1884, after the opening of the port.
Based on the historical background of exchanges with Western countries, we created a new Christmas story for our children.
It shows the colorful lifestyle and traditional culture of the time through characters that reflect the occupations and lives of commoners in the Joseon Dynasty, such as Sangdan, Suksu, Aessi, and Dongjaseung.
The bear with garlic on its head reminds us of our founding myth.
If you look closely at the places where the five main characters go, you will find the main characters of our traditional fairy tales and twelve zodiac friends hiding.
Turn the pages slowly and enjoy each page.
This is a picture book that is like a gift that you want to open every day while waiting for the coming Christmas.
