Although modern society is affluent, it is a time when true nutrition is lacking.
We eat three meals a day with food we don't even know what's in it, and at work or school, we expel nutrients that are already lacking from our bodies due to various stresses. When we return home, we fall asleep while doing activities that reduce the quality of our sleep, such as using our smartphones or watching TV, and as a result, we wake up in a hazy state again without getting quality sleep.
In today's reality, this book, which explains in detail why vitamins are needed and which vitamins are needed, is an essential book for modern families.
The author of this book, Dr. Earl Mindell, is a pharmacist and nutritionist known as the father of the nutritional revolution.
A world-renowned expert in nutrition, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and herbal remedies, he has compiled 40 years of research and experience into this one book.
The Vitamin Bible is designed to be easily accessible to anyone with questions about health and nutrition. It covers essential nutrients for each age and occupation, as well as nutrients to alleviate adverse symptoms and help cure diseases. It's organized so you can quickly find just the information you need.
From now on, don't pick up the medicine bottle just because you feel a little uncomfortable or in pain.
Let's start with the "Vitamin Bible," a book you can always keep by your side that provides the essential information and clear guidance you need to take care of your own health and that of your family.

Into the book
In 1965, I opened a pharmacy and took my first steps as a pharmacist.
Until then, I had no idea how many medications people were taking.
People habitually sought medicine not because they were sick, but simply to get through each day.
The colleague I worked with at the time, unlike me, had extensive knowledge about vitamins.
boasted.
We both worked 15 hours a day.
But I was the only one who was so tired that I became like kimchi.
I asked him what his secret was.
The answer I heard was surprisingly simple and disappointing.
“Secret? There’s no such thing.
“Just take your vitamins.” It was only then that I realized that vitamins were more useful in everyday life than against beriberi and rickets.
--- From "Vitamins that Changed Your Life"
Vitamins are natural ingredients found in foods.
Therefore, it is best to consume it directly by eating food.
When that doesn't work, take vitamin supplements sold in tablet, capsule, powder, or liquid form.
Vitamins can be artificially synthesized.
However, most of the ingredients in commercially available vitamin supplements are extracted from food sources.
For example, vitamin A is extracted from fish liver oil.
Vitamin B complex is derived from yeast and liver.
Vitamin C is best when extracted from rose hips or tapioca.
Vitamin E is made from soybeans, wheat, and corn.
--- From "What are vitamin supplements made of?"
Vitamin A is fat-soluble.
Fats as well as minerals are needed to be well absorbed in the digestive tract.
Vitamin A is stored in the body, so you don't need to take it every day.
There are two forms of vitamin A.
Vitamin A, which is formed naturally, is called retinol and can only be consumed through animal foods.
On the other hand, provitamin A, or carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body, is found in both animal and plant foods.
--- From "Vitamin A, Good for the Eyes"
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in our body.
If you add up the weight of all the calcium in your body, it comes to 0.9 to 1.3 kg.
Most of them form bones and teeth.
In adults, 20% of the calcium in the bones is newly absorbed and replaced each year (new bone cells are created with the calcium released when old bone cells are destroyed).
It works together with phosphorus to keep bones and teeth healthy, but calcium and phosphorus must be in a 2:1 ratio to remain in the body (two calcium atoms combine with one phosphorus).
It works together with magnesium to promote cardiovascular health.
For calcium to be absorbed in the body, there must be sufficient vitamin D.
--- From "Calcium for Bone Health"
It is a powerful antioxidant and anticancer agent.
It is abundant in meat from herbivores such as cows and sheep, whole milk (milk without removing fat), and butter.
Livestock fed grass consumed 3 to 5 times more than grain-fed livestock.
When buying meat or dairy products, simply choosing grass-fed options can significantly increase your intake of conjugated linolenic acids.
Can be released.
Conjugated linolenic acid has the following functions in our body:
--- From "Good Fat, Conjugated Linolenic Acid"
Among them, carotenoids are powerful plant-based chemical compounds that act as antioxidants and have excellent anticancer effects.
It is a fat-soluble pigment abundant in fruits and vegetables that are yellow, red, green, and orange in color.
It protects the body from continuous UV exposure and environmental carcinogens, and prevents the production of dangerous free radicals.
There are currently over 600 known carotenoids.
About 50 of these are found in edible fruits and vegetables.
The names of the six carotenoids, which are called the 'darlings of the 21st century anti-aging ingredients', are alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, cryptoxanthin, lycopene, lutein, and zeaxanthin.
--- From "Carotenoids in Brightly Colored Fruits and Vegetables"
In the East, mushrooms have long been prized for their unique flavor and special health benefits.
However, in the West, the health benefits of mushrooms have only recently begun to be recognized.
Mushrooms strengthen the immune system, inhibit cancer cell growth, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and prevent heart attacks.
Eating mushrooms in conjunction with chemotherapy is effective in treating cancer.
Besides these, the benefits of mushrooms are endless.
Mushrooms are high in water content but low in fat, carbohydrates, and calories.
Even if you say 450g of raw mushrooms, it only contains 125kcal.
However, when dried, it becomes as rich in protein as the same weight of beef.
When cooked, the moisture is lost and the protein becomes concentrated.
It is not good to eat a lot of raw mushrooms.
--- From "Mushrooms that Help T Cell Activity"
The main effects are as follows:
▲Lowers blood cholesterol levels and blood pressure, ▲Aids in weight loss, ▲Manages premenstrual syndrome, ▲Heals eczema, ▲Relieves symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, ▲Slows the progression of multiple sclerosis, ▲Calms overly active or distracted children, ▲When taken with zinc, is effective in treating acne, ▲Strengthens nails, and ▲Reduces menopausal hot flashes.
--- From "Evening Primrose Seed Oil, the All-rounder"
Eggs: A powerhouse of protein, two eggs contain a whopping 13 grams of protein.
It is also rich in sulfur, amino acids, and selenium.
If you're craving eggs, it may be because of the fat in the yolk, or paradoxically, because of the choline in the yolk, which helps dissolve cholesterol and fat.
Melon: Not only is it a delicious fruit, it's also rich in potassium and vitamin A.
A quarter of a melon contains a whopping 3,400 IU of vitamin A.
It is also rich in vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, biotin, and inositol, so you can eat as much as you want.
Olives: Whether green or black olives, it is often due to lack of salt.
When you think of low thyroid function, olives are bound to come to mind nine times out of ten.
--- From "What if you keep wanting to eat a certain food?"
For the first 15 to 20 minutes of running, you burn almost exclusively glucose.
Only then does it begin to burn fat to create energy, and in the process a compound called acetyl-coenzyme A is created.
If the body only has animal fat, this complex is formed slowly, resulting in energy deficiency.
On the other hand, acetyl-CoA is produced quickly in the presence of plant-based polyunsaturated fats.
Increase your intake of unsaturated fats by eating peanuts, seeds, etc.
Antioxidants such as vitamins C, E, and selenium help block the harmful effects of free radicals.
--- From "People who run"
Over-the-counter antacids usually contain aluminum.
Aluminum interferes with calcium and phosphorus metabolism.
Taking 1,000 mg of dietary sulfur three times a day (or two calcium [250 mg] and magnesium [125 mg] tablets three times a day) helps with antacid action.
Additionally, take a complex digestive enzyme supplement 1-3 times a day and frequently eat and drink papaya or papaya juice.
Drink water before and after meals
However, do not drink during meals.
Get into the habit of eating slowly.
--- From "Burning Stomach Pain"
When we get sick, our bodies are under a lot of stress.
Cells are destroyed, nutrients are robbed, and the adrenal glands are exhausted and unable to function properly.
Nutrients that help prevent stress, such as vitamin C, vitamin B6, folic acid, and pantothenic acid, are seriously deficient.
Zinc and vitamin C are needed in much larger amounts than usual.
These nutrients are necessary for our bodies to use other nutrients effectively and maintain metabolic function.
However, when the body becomes ill and is under mental and physical stress, these essential nutrients are rapidly depleted.
Therefore, you should increase your intake by taking nutritional supplements.
No special instructions
All nutritional supplements are taken with food.
--- From "The sicker you are, the more you need to take nutritional supplements"
Alcohol is a nerve depressant.
However, if you take tranquilizers and drink alcohol, these two factors can combine to cause serious depression.
In severe cases, it can lead to death.
Taking antihistamines and sedatives, which are readily available over-the-counter cold medicines, together can cause mental tremors and confusion.
Birth control pills deprive your body of nutrients like vitamins B6, B12, folic acid, and vitamin C.
So, it's perhaps natural that taking birth control pills can make you depressed.
Women taking birth control pills need 50 to 100 times more vitamin B6, which is needed for normal tryptophan metabolism, than women not taking birth control pills.
Until then, I had no idea how many medications people were taking.
People habitually sought medicine not because they were sick, but simply to get through each day.
The colleague I worked with at the time, unlike me, had extensive knowledge about vitamins.
