Publisher's Review
“Ari is full of worries today too.”
A special meeting between Ari, who is full of worries every day, and Waguwagu, who eats away the worries of the children!

Ari is a child who worries a lot.
Worried that the elevator will fall, worried that the dog will bite you, worried that it will rain because you didn't bring an umbrella, worried that your teeth will rot after eating ice cream...
From morning until I go to bed, there is nothing I don't worry about.
Then, by chance, I received a 'Worry Postcard' from the old lady who ran the stationery store.
They say that if you write your worries on a postcard and stick it on a wall, the worry deliveryman will come and take all your worries away.
That night, Ari goes to sleep with a carefully written worry postcard stuck to the window.
Ari wakes up in the middle of the night to a bright light, and the delivery man really comes to visit.
Ari follows the delivery man to Mt. Nyamnyam, and there she meets Mr. Waguwagu, who gives her the 'Anxiety Bead'.
Can Ari truly rid herself of all her anxiety and worry? "Anxiety Beads" tells the story of "worry and anxiety," a feeling we all carry to some degree, through Ari.
Looking at Ari's worries, they are things that any child her age would have.
When children see Ari, they will realize, "I'm not the only one," and begin to accept their own worries and anxieties with a little more comfort.
Also, the ways Ari takes care of her mind, such as ‘crossing the street holding hands with a friend,’ ‘hugging mom tightly,’ ‘singing with dad,’ and ‘looking at her favorite picture book,’ are things that anyone can do.
"Anxiety Beads" offers children empathy and comfort, teaching them that worry and anxiety are natural and that dealing with anxiety is not difficult or complicated.

“Your heart must become warm!”
A picture book that gives courage to children who are worried and anxious.

When children reach the age of seven or eight, they gradually realize that the world does not always go their way.
And then, naturally, worries arise.
"Anxiety Beads" is a story about a child who suffers from anxiety and worry, and finds the strength to calm his mind by obtaining an anxiety bead.
Even though we have all grown up and become adults, and even though we are little children who seem to be carefree and bright, we all live with our own worries, big and small.
Worry and anxiety can be stressful, but they can also be a driving force for growth.
You've probably prepared for something more diligently or double-checked it because of the worry and anxiety about what might happen.
If you gain experience of success in this way, the satisfaction will be greater.
The anxiety bead that Mr. Waguwagu gave me actually came from Ari's worries.
The fact that the anxiety bead emerged from Ari's worries symbolizes that the power to overcome worry and anxiety lies within 'oneself'.
Mr. Waguwagu tells Ari to find her own way to take care of the anxiety beads.
They say that when your heart becomes warm, the beads of anxiety will naturally become transparent.
There is no way to completely eliminate all worries and anxieties from life.
The anxiety bead Ari received is not a magic bead that magically removes all worries.
As we live, like everyone else, sometimes we become a little dark due to anxiety, but when our hearts become warm, they naturally become transparent.
It means that worries are not something that can be eliminated, but rather something that must be managed by oneself.
That's why the story feels more realistic even within the fantasy setting of Anxiety Beads.
This is a heartwarming picture book filled with the hope that both children and adults who, like Ari, are anxious and have many worries, will find the strength within themselves.

“You want to get rid of your worries? You have to eat to get rid of your worries.

But is that something only I can do?”
The more you watch, the more you fall in love with the charming Mr. Waguwagu and the Worry Delivery Man!

The worry deliveryman came to visit after seeing the worry postcard! He is small and carries a transparent, bottle-like bag on his back.
Then, the vacuum cleaner sucks up worries of various colors and shapes.
Although he speaks in an unkind manner and has an indifferent expression throughout, he quietly goes about his business and somehow his actions seem warm.
What the deliveryman rides is neither a car nor an airplane, but something that flies in the sky.
Let's ride this and fly to Mt. Nyamnyam.
If you look at the mountains below as you fly, they resemble things like strawberries cut in half or ice cream.
It seems like there is someone imaginary living on every mountain.
Arriving at Mt. Nyamnyam, I called out, "Knock knock! The delivery of your worries has arrived!" Suddenly, the door opened and the person who came out was... a person? A monster? A fairy? It's unclear what it was, but it was Mr. Waguwagu.
It has a soft and large body, a good appetite, and is even friendly.
Another fun aspect of reading the book is looking at the scenery inside Mr. Waguwagu's house.
There seems to be a story hidden in each and every cherry tomato, potted plant hanging on the wall, or colorful bottle.
As you turn the pages, you become curious about the hidden stories in the pictures, such as why one of Mr. Waguwagu's teeth is gold, how much work does the delivery man have to do to check the time by looking at his watch, and how children's worries differ depending on the type and color.
In this way, the new writer Hansol created a story with his unique imagination.
If you look closely at each scene, you will find yourself smiling faintly, and that is because of the warmth that permeates your imagination.
Author Hansol has created such a warm picture book by depicting the heavy subject of worry and anxiety with unique characters and colors.
I'm looking forward to this author's next work.

Even if your mind is filled with anxiety and you feel lost,
A little warmth and a kind word will be enough to take care of your anxious bead.
