This textbook, newly published by EBS, is a textbook for preparing for the basic certification exam according to the reorganization of the Korean History Proficiency Test grading system, which will be applied from the 47th exam in May 2020.
The basic certification exam is equivalent to levels 4 to 6, and the textbook is composed of essential content and questions for test takers who are challenging the basics.

The textbook content, divided into six chapters and clearly organized, will prevent confusion due to the revision and provide a new guide for students studying Korean history.

We have carefully selected and included questions designed to match the types of questions on the Korean History Proficiency Test, such as understanding historical knowledge and analyzing and interpreting historical data.
We have included both “Analysis of Representative Past Questions” and “Study Section with Past Questions to Confirm” to make it easier to understand the exam trends.
We have made every effort to structure the textbook so that you can easily adapt to the changed grading system by including “previous questions” from the past three years and “expected questions” carefully selected by EBS.

I hope this will be helpful to students who are new to Korean history or those who are taking the “Korean History Proficiency Test Basics” (Levels 4 to 6).
