Every time a new government comes into power, it promises to 'foster bio', but it keeps fading away.
A few years ago, it was said that “the bio industry is overflowing with money,” but now many bio companies are worried about their survival.
But no industry can become a trend from the start.
The atmosphere becomes ripe only after going through times when one's heart swells with hope and is frustrated with despair.
Companies and people who don't give up until then will be able to ride the huge upward trend.
Health, food, and the environment are the issues that people most directly encounter in their lives.
Automobiles, electronics and communications come next.
Bio is divided into red bio, green bio, and white bio.
Bio's interest lies in how to live in a healthy and good environment, using less energy, and eating healthy foods.
So, it is up to us, 'ordinary people', not researchers, industry practitioners, or professional investors, to take an interest in bio.
Isn't it the same for everyone in the world to eat healthy, good food, live in a good environment, and use clean energy?
When they learn about bio, bio will become a leading industry.
This book is an expression of my efforts as an 'ordinary person' to learn about bio.
Although I'm just beginning my journey into the world of bio, I hope other "ordinary people" will also become interested in what bio can do, and soon understand its meaning from their own perspectives, whether it's health, food, the environment, or even careers and investments.
