Most of the existing forest play books are theory books or guidebooks for forest teachers.
In contrast, "Grandma's Forest Playroom" is a collection of various activities using natural materials that are easy to obtain and safe, and materials that pique children's curiosity, for parents who want to play in the forest with their children, grandparents who help raise them, and teachers in the educational field.
The play style is broadly divided into four seasons, and then further divided into parts used as play materials, such as branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits, to organize which parts of which plants can be used for activities at which time.


Among the 155 forest games featured in this book, one that the author creatively devised is the game of combining azaleas and dandelions, which is already widely known among forest interpreters.
It is said that a long time ago, a child got a hint from picking up azalea flowers that had fallen from a tree branch.
Another example is the game played with a persimmon.
The usefulness of the persimmon tree was gradually learned while playing in the forest. Children really like it because they can do it on their own without having to ask for help from adults.
Forest play ideas come from constantly thinking about how to use natural objects that could be used as toys, and sometimes from watching my granddaughters play.


Let's take this book and visit a place close to home, with a good natural environment, and somewhere untouched by human influence.
Leave the tablets and toys at home and go out into nature with your child to have fun playing with twigs, grass, rocks, and berries.
Rather than letting the child play alone, it would be better if the child took the lead and the guardian also participated.
Let's not forget to clean up after playing with our children and teach them to protect nature from a young age.
