Korea's only picture book magazine, Lakivium J

The Tenth Story, "Lakivium J No. 10: Picture Books Are Home"
A place where stories breathe and hearts dwell! A place where children grow and adults rest!
“Picture books are home!”

The official title of this issue is “Lakivium J No. 10: Picture Books are Home.”
Instead of the colors we have been used to, we added the noun ‘house’ next to ‘picture book.’
I wanted to meaningfully cover the various stories contained in the picture book within a single noun, and I also wanted to include in the title what picture books mean to Lakivium J.
I am convinced that there is no better beginning than 'home'.
A space where I can be myself the most, a place where I live my daily life and where I am protected, a place where I can take root and create my identity as a person, and a free space where I can try anything.
As I listed the meanings of home one by one, I realized that for Lakivium J, picture books were truly like home.

When I thought of the sentence, 'Picture books are homes,' a warm feeling deep inside me came to me.
It occurred to me that what we were doing was inviting readers into the home of picture books.
Sometimes we throw grand parties, and other times we prepare simple meals with care.
We open our doors wide and welcome both those who create picture books and those who enjoy them.

“That’s what the best books do.
It gets more interesting after you close the book.
It's a good story to think about again after reading it and to imagine it in a new way for the child.
But if you say, 'I've read it all,' and 'I'm done,' then you haven't done your job properly as a writer.
“Long echoes and long aftertaste.” -Mac Barnett-
