Korean baby food starts with a meal made from white rice.
Add a small amount of vegetables to it, then change it up by adding some beef or chicken.
Since your baby's digestive system is still weak and you don't know what kind of allergic reaction he or she might have, it's not unusual to start with easily digestible cereals.
Breast milk is also about 40% carbohydrates, so it is natural that babies need carbohydrates.
The problem is that even if there is a lack of 'fat', it is too little.
From early weaning to middle and later stages, the typical Korean weaning food is still mostly white rice.
So I decided to make baby food that doesn't have too low a fat intake ratio.
That's what Pasture Puree is (see recipe on page 120).
This recipe, which is loaded with organic vegetables and uses grass-fed beef bones, natural butter, and whipping cream to increase the fat content, has a fat, protein, and carbohydrate ratio of approximately 65:15:20.
This is a great ratio considering that babies need fat and their protein needs gradually increase from the time they start eating solid foods.
I used a slow cooker to boil grass-fed puree, ground it into a fine powder that my baby could easily digest and absorb, and fed it to Woojoo. While many babies grow up with colds, foot-and-mouth disease, and enteritis, Woojoo grew up to be a healthy child who never went to the hospital even after turning three.
