Description
Book Introduction
This document-based interview guidebook is a compilation of my experience directly evaluating and selecting over 10,000 students as an admissions officer at major universities in the metropolitan area.
We've interpreted the essence of interviews from an evaluator's perspective and devised practical methods for students to prepare on their own. This guidebook, designed to help students prepare for document-based interviews anytime, anywhere, is a practical, self-directed guidebook.
The book details the entire process, from the day in the life of an admissions officer preparing for an interview, to the principles behind selecting interview questions, to the evaluation structure that identifies outstanding students.
In a college admissions system where the power of the CSAT and school grades to differentiate between applicants is weakening, universities are likely to strengthen document-based interviews, and top universities are likely to expand to essay-based interviews.
This book guides you through these changes, reimagining the 10-minute interview time as a language of "record, context, and growth," rather than a simple Q&A session. It also transparently reveals the operating principles of the first-stage passing multiple and interview reflection ratio, as well as the interview officer's evaluation method on the day of the interview.
Parts II and III are practical parts.
It corrects failure patterns such as answers that are too fast or short, or that are shaky due to rote memorization, and clearly shows the difference by presenting 'regrettable answers vs. excellent answers' in parallel for each series of questions.
It covers all fields, including humanities, social sciences, business, natural sciences, engineering, medicine, and military academies, and explains the points that universities actually evaluate from the perspective of an admissions officer.

Above all, the greatest strength of this book is that it is designed so that you can practice interviewing completely on your own.
You can analyze your student records to extract interview questions using the "Interview Question Creation Workbook," check your weaknesses with the "Interview Preparation Checklist," and take a mock exam using the "Document-Based Mock Interview Simulation."
We recommend that you write your answers using the 'Interview Secret Workbook' and have them reviewed repeatedly.
This book can be used as a textbook for interviews at schools and academies, and is designed to be completed through self-directed learning alone.
A sincere answer will last longer than a flowery sentence.
I hope you will complete your prepared mind and language with this one book.
