Even though I learned the pronunciation symbols, there are no pronunciation symbols next to the English words?

Reading English is similar to reading Chinese characters.
After practicing with both Chinese characters and Hangul, you should be able to read only the Chinese characters.
For example, after studying hard with 尊敬 [respect], you should be able to read when only 尊敬 is written, then you have properly studied the Chinese characters.
Likewise, after studying with touch [tΛt?], you will have studied English properly only if you can pronounce it when only touch is written.
You can't read new English words using just the alphabet.
This is true even for native speakers.
Even native speakers have to hear English words somewhere or look them up in a dictionary to read them.
In an environment like Korea where you don't have many opportunities to hear English, you need to learn pronunciation symbols and be able to look up English dictionaries.

If you learn with phonetic symbols, won't your pronunciation become strange?

If pronunciation is graded, reading a word by hearing it pronounced by a native speaker would be worth 95 points, while reading it using phonetic symbols would be worth 90 points.
However, reading with phonics is worth about 70 points, and if you can't read at all, it's 0 points.
You should first consider whether you can read English words well enough to worry about pronunciation, which is around 90 points.

If you learn by listening with an electronic dictionary, don't you not need to learn pronunciation symbols?

To learn the pronunciation of English words by listening to native speakers in an electronic dictionary, you must first perfect your English listening skills.
In other words, you should be able to listen to English sounds in movies or on the news and imitate them.
Otherwise, learning pronunciation with an electronic dictionary is like trying to learn by listening to sounds you can't hear.

Aren't pronunciation symbols difficult to learn because they are symbols?

There may seem to be a lot of pronunciation symbols, around 50, but if you actually study them, you'll find that there aren't that many to memorize.
If you memorize about 26 letters, such as '[s] ㅅ [t] ㅌ', while thinking of their alphabetic sounds, you can memorize them just by looking at them once.
Since you only need to focus on memorizing the remaining 24 or so, it is so easy that anyone can memorize it in a week at the fastest or two weeks at the slowest.

If I learn phonetic symbols, won't I get confused about English spelling?

When you actually teach pronunciation symbols, you can see that they are confused at first.
So many people ask why reading and writing English is different. It's only natural that Koreans, who use Hangul, a superior alphabet where sounds and letters are identical, would have difficulty doing so.
However, with a little patience and effort, you can understand and adapt to the characteristics of English that are different when reading and writing.

Is there any special reason why I should learn phonetic symbols?

Students who scored below 70 on the English test have one thing in common.
The problem is that you can't read English words.
