『The Confessions of St. Augustine』 is divided into 13 parts.
Books 1 through 9 cover Augustine's past life, Book 10 covers his life at the time he wrote the Confessions, and Books 11 through 13 cover his theory of time and creation.
Augustine reveals his threefold confession in his Confessions: confession of sin, confession of praise, and confession of faith.
Through this triple confession, he praises God's greatness and grace by confessing his past sins, and at the same time, he confesses his faith and, further, his faith in the Creator.
