Into the book
The concerns of mothers who would rather return to work than stay at home can be divided into two categories:
One problem is economic dependence.
Relying solely on your spouse's income can leave the person at home feeling hurt and stressed.
It feels like staying at home without making any money is worthless.
Because I'm 'just watching Anna at home'.
The other one is the fear of being 'trapped in a wall'.
The problem is that I end up spending all day at home with my kids.
This is more serious because it is not the child's fault.
The root cause of this problem lies in our lifestyle.
Although city homes and apartments may look comfortable on the outside, they can actually be quite lonely.
The only chance I have to go outside is to go to the supermarket to buy groceries, surrounded by neighbors I don't even know well.
Neighbourhood or playgroups (a type of communal playroom you see in Australia, there are one or two in every neighbourhood and they are a bit different from daycare facilities).
I don't think it's impossible for it to change into a communal life by expanding exchanges through places like churches or sports clubs where residents with children can gather and play together (translator's note) or churches or sports clubs.
However, for this to happen, parents themselves must be confident and extroverted.
