The best book that will give you a taste of heaven!

“Wherever you walk with the Lord Jesus, there is heaven.”

These are the lyrics of 'My Soul is Blessed,' one of the hymns that Koreans love.
If there is one thing Christians long for most, it is probably a taste of heaven.
Since the purpose of a Christian's life is to enjoy and glorify God, it is only natural that they would want to taste heaven, that is, to enjoy God's presence and experience Him every day.
However, even if you are a Christian, you realize that it is not easy to experience God while living in the world.
Our sins and the temptations of the world are great obstacles to experiencing Him.
It keeps diverting our gaze from God and holds us back.
Because of this, we become discouraged and frustrated.


This is heaven

Here is someone who resembled Christ in character and experienced God until the moment of his death.
It's Brother Lawrence.
He tried to experience God in every moment of his life.
To be precise, it should be said that he tried to live a life for God.
Brother Lawrence did not neglect even the smallest detail of his actions and thoughts in order to experience God.
I tried to focus on God and rejoice in Him even while doing menial tasks.
Because of this, I actually experienced God every day.
He is probably the Christian who has tasted the greatest presence of God in this world.
The message Brother Lawrence gives us is clear.
“Consider every day you do not spend loving God a lost day.” The God experienced by the very small one, who experienced God at every moment and tried to glorify Him in everything, is not another God.
He is also our God.

When he began his work, he prayed to God with the confidence of a child.
“O my God, you are with me.

As he went about his work, he continued to have an intimate conversation with his Creator, both asking for grace and praising Him for all His works.
When he finished his work, he checked himself to see how he had fulfilled his responsibilities.
If I found something going well, I offered a prayer of thanks to God, and if not, I asked for forgiveness.
But even in such cases, he did not fall into disappointment.
He gathered his wits again and continued to practice God's presence as if he had never been out of it.

I have given up all forms of worship and fixed prayer, except those which are due to my position.
I simply make it my business to be patient in God's holy presence, and in that presence I keep myself simply attentive to God, and attentive and affectionate.
I can call that state the actual presence of God.
Or, to put it more bluntly, we could call it a 'habitual, unspoken, secret soul conversation' with God.
It often brings inner joy and delight within me, and sometimes outwardly as well.
Because the joy is so great, there are times when I have to use some means to tone it down so that it doesn't show to others.

How sweet it is to endure suffering with God! No matter how great the suffering, accept it with love.
Being with Him even in suffering is paradise.
If we wish to enjoy the peace of paradise in this life, we must become accustomed to intimate, humble, and loving conversation with God.
In any case, we must prevent our minds from turning away from Him.
We must make our hearts our spiritual temples, where we worship Him constantly.
We must constantly examine ourselves and avoid doing, saying, or thinking anything that might displease Him.
If our thoughts are filled with God in this way, we will be filled with the joy of comfort even in the midst of suffering.

Living in accordance with God's will with love is everything I do in life.
As long as I live like that, it doesn't matter what I do or what difficulties I face.

I am in God's hands, and He has good purposes for me.
Therefore, I have no concern whatsoever about what people can do to me.
If I cannot serve God here, I will find somewhere else to serve Him.
