Based on Eugene Peterson's The Message Bible, we've selected 50 stories for children and decorated them with fun illustrations.
Children who read Eugene Peterson's First Children's Bible will feel that the Bible is the living Word of God and will be able to live by its words.
There are many books that explain the Bible in stories so that children can understand it easily.
However, parents often say that they wish their children would understand the Bible as the actual words of the Bible rather than just accepting it as a storybook.
So, I've taken 50 Bible stories from The Message and included them in this book.
The stories in the Old Testament are arranged in the order in which they appear in the Bible, and the stories in the New Testament are arranged in the chronological order in which the events occurred.
We did not include words or unimportant parts of the story that are difficult for young children to understand.
And we added vivid and fun illustrations to help children better immerse themselves in the story.
When drawing the illustrations, I tried to be as historically accurate as possible.
Eugene Peterson's First Children's Bible is a prayer Bible that helps children not only know God's Word but also develop a lifelong habit of prayer.
The stories and questions in this book help children think about the meaning of the stories in the Bible.
There are also several activities that children can practice.

Into the book
The story begins like this.
God created the heavens and the earth.
Everything visible and invisible.
The land was an empty space with endless darkness and no visible bottom.
God was watching everything like a bird above the deep, dark waters.
God said.
“Let there be light!”
Then there was light.
God saw the light and was glad.
God gave the light the name 'day'.
He gave the darkness the name 'night'.
The evening passed and morning came.
This was the first day.
---From "God Who Created Heaven and Earth"
God made a big fish swallow Jonah.
Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of the fish.
After three days, Jonah prayed to God from inside the fish.
Jonah prayed like this:
“I, in great pain, pray to God,
The Lord answered my prayer.
I have come to the deepest depths that a human being can descend.
Please take me out of this living grave.
God, my God!
When my life was fading away, I remembered God.
And then my prayer was delivered to God.
Worship God.
I pray with a grateful heart.
Now I will do what I promised God!”
When God commanded the fish, it spit Jonah out onto the shore.
