Publisher's Review
The 'Nine-Day Prayer with Our Lady, the Untieer of Knots' is a prayer asking Our Lady to mediate our special intentions with God.
It is a continuous appeal and entrustment made with faith to the One who, by the amazing power of mediation, unties the knots of our lives, standing beside His Son, Jesus, for those in need.

Here, knots refer to all the problems we have had often and for a long time.
That is, the problems we do not know how to solve, the sins that separate us from God, prevent us from welcoming Him into our lives and holding Him in his arms like children, all the things that prevent us from loving ourselves humbly, truly loving our families, and putting into practice the commandment of Jesus: “Love one another as I have loved you” (cf. John 13:34).

Mary is between her Son and human beings who live in the reality of desire, need, and suffering.
Mary knows that she can, as mediator, make known to her Son the needs of humanity, and indeed she has the right to do so.
As a mother, she intercedes with her son, as an intercessor, she helps untie the knots of life, and she transforms our sad reality into the joy of salvation.

The devotion to Our Lady of the Undoing of Knots began in 1986 when Pope Francis, then a Jesuit priest, brought several copies of the painting to Argentina.

This beautiful painting was completed around 1700 at the request of a high-ranking clergyman and is housed in the Cathedral of St. Peter am Perlach in Augsburg, Germany.
Our Lady's demeanor is peaceful, completely focused on the task entrusted to her: untangling the thick and small knots of the tangled white ribbon.
By accepting Christ, Mary became necessary for salvation, and her obedience became the motive for salvation.
Mary unties the knot of Eve's disobedience and brings life.
Just as Mary gave birth to Christ, so too do the members of Christ give birth to life.
Angels accompanying humans, attendants, and God's instruments also occupy an important part of the painting.
As the angel on the left gives the Virgin Mary a ribbon tied with all kinds of knots, the smooth ribbon, now free of knots, slides into the hand of the angel on the right.

Our Lady is one who shares our human condition and can share in all our weaknesses.
Even though He does not know sin, He understands the sinner and loves him with motherly love.
If we give all our knots to Our Lady, she will untie them one by one.
Because Our Lady, with her maternal love, is still on her pilgrimage and is caring for her Son's brothers who are in danger and suffering until they reach their blessed homeland.

Let us entrust ourselves to the greatness of Our Lady, who 'unties knots'.
Let us allow Our Lady to show us the wonderful things God has prepared for us.
