Growing up with music and play
The harmony of the wild and wild Doremi!

If you were to ask children these days what "music" is, what would they say? They'd probably say, "The more you learn about it, the more tiring it becomes, and the more you approach it, the more boring it becomes." Perhaps they'd say, "Unlike math or English, it's a subject you don't have to study."
Children who used to dance, sing, and play with their friends during recess sometimes become speechless and mute during music class.

"Why can't we enjoy this wonderful music? Why can't we have fun learning during music class?"

Edunity's new book, [Let's Play Together, Music Playground], started from this concern of teacher Seungmo Han.
The teacher's desire to show the children how fun and playful music can be changed them from the inside out.
Children who initially disliked music play because it was unfamiliar and difficult realized that they could enjoy playing with music when they played with friends.
We showed children who gave up right away because it was difficult, taking on challenges step by step until they succeeded.
Friends who were a little better and more familiar with it guided those who were having a hard time.

Music play not only cultivates musical skills such as accurate notes, rhythm, and rich expressiveness.
It also has a positive effect on the development of children's character.
Teacher Seungmo Han says that children who know how to 'play' with music are not only active but also positive, socially savvy, and considerate.

Let's have fun playing music together!

[Let's Play Together, Music Playground] contains a total of 54 music games, including 10 vocal games, 11 singing games, 12 rhythm games, 10 melody games, and 11 harmony games.
We have introduced it step by step, from ‘vocalization’ to ‘harmony’, so that even teachers who are new to ‘music play’ can easily approach it.
Even within one tab, they are arranged in order from easiest to most difficult.
For games that seemed difficult, we guided them to 'repeat the previous game enough and then play again', and we also included 'the principles of the game we will play from now on' at the beginning of each chapter to help them understand where to focus when playing music with children.

When the full-fledged play guide begins, the first page introduces the play as briefly as possible, including 'Which grade level is this play suitable for? How long does it take? What growth can we expect from this play for children?'
The next page contains the 'activity stages' of the play in order of play, along with cute illustrations.
We have taken care to make it easy for teachers to follow along with the music play during class time with the most intuitive pictures and explanations possible.
Next, we explained in as much detail as possible the 'Teacher's Advice' by Seungmo Han, which is essential for playing better, and the 'class effects' that can be expected from the music play.

At the end of each game, "Click! Into the Game" appears, combining game photos and activity illustrations.
This image, which captures the serious expressions of children playing music with speech bubbles like in a comic book, conveys a lively feeling as if the children had just finished playing music together.
It's not just "Click! Into the Play" that brings the action to life.
Because at the end of each game, there are various videos linked via QR codes that can be used as reference for the game activities.
Among them, the 'music play' videos of teacher Seungmo Han and children in particular capture the children having fun with music.

After introducing all the games, we included the appendix with sheet music to help with the music games, in order of the text.
For teachers who want to delve deeper into music play, we also provided a systematic ‘music play classification method.’

Now, in Mr. Han Seung-mo's class, we learn about beats and pitch while playing, and we naturally introspect ourselves by looking at our own expressions.
