Book Introduction
“Lift up your eyes and look at me.
“I will finally give you hope”

In that place of frustration, God works, and hope blooms like a flower.

We live in an age when the word hope is more urgent than ever.
Everyone lives each day carrying the burden of a difficult life.
Hope not only leads one's own life to happiness, but also gives others the courage to rise again.
If you drink from the river of hope, you will not crumble even in a hopeless environment.
Because there is a clear reason to live until the last moment of breath.
We rejoice when things go well, but we complain when we face difficulties.
I feel despair, like I have been abandoned by God.
But God never leaves us alone.
God knows I have a hard time.
There is a reason why you were left in the wilderness for a while.

There is a reason why it is placed with green pastures and restful waters.
Wherever I am, if I put my hope in God, I will not despair.
I come to trust and look to God.
If you have hope, you can sing even in the darkest nights and be thankful even in the wilderness of life.
Because no matter what happens, I believe my life is in God's hands.
Hope is not a self-suggestion that everything will be okay.
It is a confession of faith that the good God is the master of my life.
This book contains ten stories about hope.
Those who are suffering in spirit, soul, and body due to various things must close their eyes of despair and turn their gaze to God.
That's the only way to survive.
Our only hope, Jesus Christ, the Lord, speaks to us with warm eyes even today.
“Don’t worry, I have a plan.
“My plans for you are hope.” You can rise again with the strength of the Lord’s words.

Into the book
Who would want to go into the wilderness?
God knows our hearts so well.
There is one important word that shows God's heart.
God says He will take us into the wilderness, into the “Tyler” field.
“Tyler” is ‘Pata’ in Hebrew.
It originally meant 'to tempt' or 'to deceive with lies'.
We can see God trying to lead us into the wilderness, even if it means tempting us or deceiving us with lies.
Why would God go to such lengths to lead us into the wilderness? Because there is something He must do in the wilderness.
These are the words we must remember whenever we encounter wilderness on our journey through life.
If God takes us into the wilderness, even if it means leading us astray, there must be a reason.
Do you remember Jesus' temptation in the wilderness? It wasn't Satan who drove Jesus into the wilderness.
The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness.
--- p.17~18

The reason why humans fundamentally lost hope is because they were separated from God.
For humans who have sinned against God and become objects of judgment, all hope has become an unreachable mirage.
God constantly comes to such people and promises them hope.
God is singing for us the song of hope we should sing.
“I will make you new.
"I will finally send the promised Messiah and make you my sons and daughters!" This message of hope flows like a mighty river throughout the Bible.
--- p.39

David, who was suffering from discouragement and anxiety, realized something.
When I look up and see my reality, everything is dark and I feel like I'm standing on the edge of a cliff in the darkness.
But when he lifted up his spiritual eyes and saw again, he saw that God was with him.
I realized that I was so caught up in the problems of reality that I couldn't see God.
I realized that I had been meditating on my suffering, not on God.
This is David's confession that burst out at that time.
--- p.72

Now is not the time to sit in the easy chair of 'compromise' and sleep spiritually.
It is not a time of peace where one can drink the cup of silence and say, 'I will do my work quietly.'
It is time to reject this age of rebellion against God and cut the anchor of compromise with the world.
It is time to burst the riverbank of indifference that stands alone with moderate faith.
It is time for us to rise up with one heart, hoping for a world where God's name is exalted and where God's love permeates the entire world.
--- p.143

“If you suffer evil, do not repay evil with evil; if you suffer, do not complain or slander others.
Rather, bless them even if they are insulted.
"Rejoice and be glad, for you are following the Lord's life even in times of suffering." Was it because they were special people? They were just ordinary people, living their lives in pain, even from a tiny thorn under their fingernails.
But they had a different perspective.
It is a different way of looking at the world, a different way of looking at death and life.
They were people with different identities.
They lived as holy fools like Eurojibi, citizens of heaven.
--- p.191

So what will we be like in heaven? When our lives on this earth end, whether we're cremated or buried, we'll all disappear into the dust and wind over time.
And our souls will open their eyes right before the Lord.
When we meet the Lord in heaven, we will be given new, imperishable bodies. What will we look like then? In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul likens our restored state in heaven to a "seed."
We can't be sure what the seed we plant will grow into, but it will certainly be the most beautiful and healthy.
Because God will restore us to our perfect state, and the tree of life in heaven will keep us in the best condition.
This is the heavenly hope given to those who live with Jesus as their Lord.
