Description
Book Introduction
A new work by Lee Song-hyeon, author of "Ten Thousand Divings"
A hilarious rebellion of teenagers fighting against distorted stereotypes!
Lee Song-hyeon, a writer who has won awards across genres in the children's and youth literature field, including the Chosun Ilbo New Year's Literary Contest in the poetry category and the Four Seasons Literary Award and the Ma Hae-song Literary Award, has been loved by critics and readers alike.
Author Lee Song-hyeon has published a story titled "A Pretty Good Day," which gently opens the clogged hearts of 12 children with deficiencies.
The main characters, who at first glance have very ordinary concerns - the world's gaze and prejudice toward outcasts, dieting, family division, career concerns, sibling conflict, and the loss of family - are organically connected to complete a single story.
It shows the unfiltered power of teenagers as they overcome misunderstandings caused by minor mistakes and the prejudices of adults and stand up with confidence.
The 'Great Rebellion of Losers', which means that just because you've fallen and been beaten once, it's not over yet, is about to begin.

Into the book
“Lee Jin-seon is… more amazing than I thought.
“As expected, being first in the entire school isn’t something that just anyone can do.”
Although he whispered in a small voice, I heard clearly what Kim Hyo-sang said.
The voice felt distinct, as if it were gently knocking on my heart.
It was a moment when my hard heart softened like a pumpkin cake.
--- From the text “The Secret of Walking”
The world is full of good kids these days! I hope the term "kids these days" has a positive connotation, not a negative one. I also subconsciously wanted to repay my grandfather for the red ginseng jelly he gave me.
--- From the text "Please Trust Me!"
Whether you were chubby, fat, skinny, or average, Kang Yeo-ul, you were always amazing.
Never forget that!
--- From the text "My dear little brat"
My maternal grandmother did that.
Life is a battle against time.
If you spend each day diligently doing what you have to do, the sad and painful things will gradually subside, and the happy and enjoyable things will accumulate and become memories.
So, you have to do your best at every moment.
It may not show good results right away, but it will see the light someday.
--- From the text “The Sound of Spring”
There may be a difference between 'just like that' and 'that's how it is', but they both have the same lack of affection for the world.
--- From the main text, “Myeongran Omelette is Not Free”
I recommended Kim Eun-hee as our class representative for the Good Deed of the Month award, giving ample reasons why she should be nominated.
If Kim Eun-hee is not a suitable candidate, the homeroom teacher will have to hear evidence that can convince me and our entire class.
--- From the text “Counterfeit Commendation”
To make incredibly delicious dumplings, you must carefully prepare them with the best ingredients and steam them at the right temperature.
Why does the world become so bitter when mom and dad work the same way?
I couldn't understand it at all.
--- From the text “The time it takes for the marinated ribs to cook”
Dohwan is a good kid.
I knew he would be grateful for the single piece of nurungji candy I gave him, and he readily offered to help me with the farm work.
--- From the text "Sweet, My Sweet Garden"
As I live each day, dreams will come to me and things I want to do will appear.
I believe in myself, but I don't understand why people around me are making a fuss about my dreams.
--- From the text "The Beauty of Information on Monster Power"
I swore at my brother.
The reality of being a middle school student who could do nothing was terrifying as I watched my older brother gradually wither away from mental illness and my mother break down, holding back tears between my older brother and father.
--- From the text "Nice Catch"
If someone were to ask me where love comes from, I would confidently say that it starts at the tips of my fingers.
--- From the main text, “I confessed for nothing”
A family is one that lives together.
That's why there's a saying that a close neighbor is better than a distant brother.
“As expected, being first in the entire school isn’t something that just anyone can do.”

It shows the unfiltered power of teenagers as they overcome misunderstandings caused by minor mistakes and the prejudices of adults and stand up with confidence.
The 'Great Rebellion of Losers', which means that just because you've fallen and been beaten once, it's not over yet, is about to begin.
“Just because you lose once doesn’t mean it’s completely over.
Life is long!”
The prejudices of an uneasy daily life and a sad world,
Supporting the struggles of teenagers who are shaken by the storm.
The world today's youth live in is so bleak that they don't even give a passing glance to things that aren't horrific, like domestic violence, school violence, or drug addiction that only appear on the news.
In reality, students are worried about their future paths and personalities, and subtle violence among students, starting with bullying, is commonplace, but adults dismiss it as 'just a trivial emotional dispute.'
Even though these small wounds eventually accumulate to cause big problems, children in this cold world keep their mouths shut and live as if nothing happened.
“Are our children really living each day without any problems?”
The story begins with a question about the well-being of teenage children.
Twelve middle school students, who have just emerged from their childhood, are each struggling with their own worries.
These children struggle against the world's prejudices, control and suppress their anger that flares up hundreds of times a day, and struggle to get through each day, while adults just stand by and watch.
Even just holding them at a distance that is appropriate for them to stand on their own, showing them kindness and concern, and asking them the easiest greeting in the world, "Have you eaten?", can be enough to comfort them and help them move forward into the future.
I try to ask the teenagers around me how they are doing in my own way.
Bright and cheerful, sometimes tearful, sometimes gently patting the shoulder.
“Are you eating and walking around?”
_From the author's note
“Nice catch!”
12 stories and 12 main characters,
Finding myself at the center of the world
A boy who is so shy that he can't even tell the girl he likes that he likes her, or a timid child who is worried that the thief might get hurt even after catching him.
From a child with no presence, like air floating in the classroom, to a lost stray dog.
This book is an organically connected series of twelve stories featuring subjects who might otherwise be dismissed as supporting actors or passable extras.
Also, no character in the work wastes time.
That's not all.
This book is not centered solely around the narrative of teenagers, like the tiki-taka between a girl who couldn't overcome her appearance complex and her grandfather in a green baseball cap, the lonely death of the maternal grandmother who taught her about usefulness and left her with the importance of family, the convenience store owner who shows interest in the child who only appears in the dark world, and the lettuce grandmother who makes her work hard in the fields and gives her ribs.
You can get a glimpse of the strong friendship that transcends generations.
The author conveys that any writer is a precious being who creates the world, and that their narratives come together to create a society.
That is why, through solidarity with those who are in the blind spot of society, we hope to change the way the world views and views them.
I look forward to a world where, rather than lamenting, "Kids these days!", people will praise them, saying, "It's fortunate that we have kids these days."
