Seek God
Description
Book Introduction
“If you’ve never read Tozer, read this book!”
One of Christianity Today's "Books of the 20th Century"
Recommended by Park Young-don, Martin Lloyd-Jones, James Packer, and James Montgomery Boyce
Again, seek God!
In this age filled with darkness, a ray of encouraging light shines.
The number of people who yearn for God more and more as they live a life of faith is increasing.
They long for spiritual reality.
I am not satisfied with just hearing the exact 'interpretation' of the truth.
They thirst for God Himself and are not satisfied until they have drunk deeply from the 'fountain of living water.'
This is the only sign of revival that I can detect on the horizon of faith.
Only this longing can revive countless souls.
We can restore the shining wonder that should accompany faith in Christ, a wonder that has now disappeared from God's church.
We Christians must recognize this longing.
Today's evangelicals seem content to build altars, cut out the pieces of the offering, count the altar stones, and rearrange the pieces, oblivious to the fact that the sign of fire that descended upon the lofty summit of Mount Carmel is no longer there.
But thankfully, there are a few people who care.
They long for God above all else.
I long to experience for myself the “passionate sweetness” of Christ’s love, about which all the holy prophets wrote and the psalmists sang.
This book is a humble attempt to help hungry children discover God.
The content of this book is new only in that it contains what I have found to be the most delightful and wonderful spiritual realities. In no other respect is it new.
Others have gone much deeper into this sacred mystery before me.
But my flame, though not great, is real, and I believe there will be those who will ignite their souls with it.
