Description
Book Introduction
The National Korean Language Teachers Association analyzed and compiled 10 novels from middle school Korean language textbooks.
- Develop in-depth reading experience and literacy skills through novel reading.

According to the revised 2022 curriculum, there will be a total of 10 Korean language textbooks for middle school students starting in 2025.
All of the novels included in the 10 textbooks were carefully selected as works that are suitable for reading at the first-year middle school level.
Therefore, if students are exposed to a variety of novels included in various textbooks, they will not only be able to have a deeper reading experience, but will also naturally develop their Korean language skills.

This book was planned and compiled by the National Korean Language Teachers Association based on these ideas.
After reading the novel, activities are provided to help develop three-dimensional thinking skills, and detailed explanations are included.
Therefore, it is good to read alone, and it is also good to use during reading discussion time or creative experience activity time.
Through this book, students will be able to develop the ability to appreciate and understand novels and their Korean language skills.

Into the book
Why do we read novels?

“The wind is blowing.
“Taking everything and leaving everything behind.”
“If snow is the silence that falls from the sky, then rain may be the endlessly long sentences that fall from the sky.”

These wonderful sentences come from a novel by Nobel Prize winner Han Kang.
How would we encounter sentences like these if we didn't read novels? In this way, novels offer us beautiful and emotional language, or words imbued with life philosophy and wisdom.
Just as you watch a drama and get immersed in the interesting story, novels also contain interesting stories.
Additionally, the novel features a variety of people, showing the diverse conflicts and lives that humans experience.
We enter the world created by the novel and experience the protagonist's emotions indirectly, feeling sorry for them and even feeling sorry for them.
The very important emotions that we learn in life, namely the ability to understand the world and others, are naturally learned through the process of reading novels.
You can also develop wisdom and the power of thought through the thoughts and actions of the characters that appear under the author's meticulous calculations.
This is why reading good novels during adolescence is so important.
