Publisher's Review
1.
I translated it by directly looking at the original Hebrew and Greek text.
Living in Israel for 10 years, I observed the Hebrew Bible in family worship every day, studied Biblical Hebrew at the Hebrew University, and directly saw and translated the original Hebrew and Greek Bible.
2.
Consistency work has been completed.
Even if you translate the Bible literally, you cannot adhere to the principle of “one Korean word for each word.”
Some native language words have different meanings depending on the context, so they can only be translated into two or more Korean equivalents.
However, if a word has the same meaning in each context in which it is used, it should be consistently translated into a single Korean equivalent that most accurately represents the meaning of the word.
There are about 8,700 Hebrew words in the Old Testament and about 700 Aramaic words.
After completing the translation, I created a word-by-word search program to comprehensively review and correct the meaning and consistency of the translated words in word order.
This work alone took two years.
3.
Proper nouns are written in their original pronunciation.
The pronunciation of proper nouns in the Korean Bible we use now is very ignorant.
The reason for this is that the pronunciation of proper nouns in the Korean Bible, which originated from the English and Chinese Bibles, was influenced by the pronunciation of the Greek Bible.
Greek cannot adequately pronounce the Hebrew phonetics.
For example, since there is no phonetic value for Tzadina or Sheen, the pronunciations of Itzha and Shlomo were changed to Isaac and Solomon.
The pronunciations of Hebrew proper nouns transliterated here are the same as the original Hebrew pronunciations and are pronunciations that can be used directly in Israel today.
