Book Introduction
Gathered to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the launch of 'Changbi Youth Perspective'
20 happy and fresh faces

For a long time, while children enjoyed poetry as 'children's poetry,' teenagers had to read the canonical poems in textbooks, especially poems written by adults that did not fit their lives and sensibilities.
Accordingly, the 'Changbi Youth Poetry Selection' was launched in 2015 with the aim that young people should also read and enjoy good contemporary poetry.
Over the past 10 years, the Changbi Youth Poetry Selection has achieved record-breaking results, with most of its poetry collections selected for Youth Book of the Year and Literature Sharing, and seven of its works being included in the new middle school textbooks to be used starting in 2025.
Additionally, eight books, including 『Mind Affairs』 (Oh Eun) and 『Goodbye to You Too』 (Na Tae-joo), sold over 10,000 copies each, and the series sold over 300,000 copies in total, reaching out to young people across the country.

Changbi Youth Poetry Collection, which has firmly established the foundation for youth poetry, is presenting a special commemorative poetry collection to mark its 50th anniversary.
Twenty poets, including Hwang In-chan, Park Jun, Park So-ran, Yang Anda, and Yoo Hee-kyung, who have established their own unique styles and received much love from readers, but have never been seen in the world of youth poetry, have written three new poems for youth, a total of 60.
Additionally, the book includes 'Beginning Notes' that reveal the poets' concerns and approaches while writing their works, providing a richer reading experience.

This poetry collection, filled with the heart of the author who offers sympathy and comfort to young people in affectionate language and offers a helping hand of support and encouragement, is literally a 'poetry feast for young people.'
Just as you open a carefully packaged box and pick out one of the colorfully decorated donuts, whichever page you open and read, you will be able to taste the bittersweet, unfamiliar yet interesting taste of poetry.
As a new voice for youth poetry that will usher in the next decade, this commemorative poetry collection is rich and fulfilling.
'Changbi Youth Poetry' will continue to devote all its efforts to broadening the horizons of youth poetry and exploring its newness and possibilities.

Publisher's Review
10th anniversary of the launch of ‘Changbi Youth Perspective’
20 young poets gathered to illuminate the next decade.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Changbi Youth Poetry Series, which aims to properly establish a place for youth poetry, the 50th commemorative poetry collection, "The Feeling of Sharing a Donut," has been published.
Twenty young poets who have cultivated their own unique world of poetry have compiled “poems written with the heart of giving gifts to youth” (Invitational Words).
The poem shows the youth “pushing forward/pushing forward/moving forward” (Yoo Gye-young, “The World of the Turtle”) as they go through a period of chaos.
This poetry collection, which contains vivid stories of young people who are “engrossed in the shape of joy and/sadness” (Yang An-da, “Community”) and “how can we achieve/world peace/and make the Earth beautiful” (Yoo Byeong-rok, “Now is Not the Time”), will become a warm friend to the young people living today.
I hope that you will experience the joy of becoming friends with poetry while unfolding the most shining 'time of youth' in your life in "The world I don't give up on/The world that doesn't give up on me" (Choi Hyun-woo, "The Reason for the Game") and "The wide, wide pink world" (Han Yeo-jin, "The Pink World").

“Think whatever you want.
“Because it’s your feeling anyway.”
A collection of poems that gives freedom to oppressed feelings.

As you read the poetry collection, you may discover something unique.
There are several poems with titles that include the word 'mood', including the title piece, "The Feeling of Sharing a Donut," "The Feeling of Walking Together While Holding Hands," "The Feeling of Summer" (Yoo Hee-kyung), "The Feeling of Being Loved" (Park So-ran), "The Feeling of Swimming" (Han Yeo-jin), and "The Feeling of Rice Cakes and Wheat Cakes" (Kim So-hyung).
There is also a phrase that says, “I feel like I’ve talked about everything in the world” (Yang An-da, “Weather Forecast”).
Poet Yoo Hee-kyung also says in her “Start Note” that “writing poetry and reading poetry are also matters of mood.”

This phenomenon, which is rare in anthology poetry, becomes interesting when read as a new approach to youth poetry.
In modern society, 'moods', especially those of teenagers, are easily ignored.
The existential instability and inexplicable anxiety that teenagers often feel are easily generalized as problems to be solved, while the surge of energy and excitement are typical symptoms of adolescence.
Literary critic Oh Yeon-kyung emphasizes in her foreword that youth poetry provides a space for youth in this reality to faithfully confront the sense of existence and the feelings of life itself, and emphasizes the need for youth poetry to be present alongside youth.

“Let’s read youth poetry together to our heart’s content.”
The Voice for Youth's Journey Continues

Over the past decade, Changbi Youth Poetry has played a pivotal role in establishing youth poetry as a branch of literature, providing a way for young people to approach poetry more closely and comfortably.
The significance of youth poetry lies in the fact that it allows youth to express their own independent voices.
However, there are growing concerns that the material is somewhat limited, leading to repetition of similar topics, and that the content may go too far in enlightenment or moralizing.
"Sharing a Donut" would be a great counter to these criticisms.

In addition, Changbi Education plans to publish “The Present and Future of Youth Poetry” in an effort to go one step further from the creation and enjoyment of youth poetry and provide a forum for productive criticism of youth poetry.
This book contains various stories of people who read, write, share, and create youth poetry in a magazine format.
We will continue our “adventure toward the future of youth poetry” (Preface) by spending time with the youth, the protagonists of the future.
In this way, ‘Changbi Youth Perspective’ continues.
