How to discover what you love
Description
Book Introduction
Career Path Finding Guide for Teens
Once you find what you like, you'll be able to like me more!
A book has been published that teaches young people who are worried about what they want to do or be, how to 'discover what they like' and guides them to explore their career paths.
This is a book written for teenagers by author Dahye Lee, who has talked about how to discover a career and the attitudes and skills needed in the workplace, such as in “My Work for Tomorrow” and “Spells on the Way to Work.”
Teenagers are often asked what their interests are and what they hope to become.
While there are teenagers who clearly know what they want to do and move forward without hesitation, there are also many teenagers who worry because they don't know what they like or what they are good at.
In situations where we don't even know the answer ourselves, we feel pressured to decide on a career path as soon as possible, and so we end up following the future aspirations recommended by the adults around us.
This book encourages young people who are worried about their future amidst anxiety and burden, and suggests that they start by discovering themselves and then move on to discovering what they love.
Author Dahye Lee leads young readers to reflect on their own characteristics that they may not have been particularly conscious of.
It is about having each person think of things they are comfortable with and good at, such as decorating, evaluating, recording, observing, caring, searching, analyzing, creating, and communicating.
These characteristics are presented in connection with various interests such as plants, space, content, science, sports, and trends, and guide users to find new fun in their daily lives and even discover their career path.

Publisher's Review
If you look closely, you will find a special me
Creating 'my work' in the direction I like
Even though they both love tteokbokki, some people enjoy tasting and reviewing food from various restaurants, while others are interested in the recipes and management methods of successful restaurants.
Even when playing the same game, some people are attracted to the world or characters, while others enjoy the competition.
While some people find joy in sharing their thoughts with others through public writing, others find meaning in building their own personal records.
Even though they may seem like the same interests on the surface, their colors and shapes are diverse.
Author Dahye Lee guides young people to discover their individual tastes, characteristics, and special talents in everyday life, which at first glance may seem to be devoid of individuality or specialness.
It guides me to create 'my work' in a way that I am comfortable with, in a way that I am good at, and in a direction that I like.
“People with many dreams can live fun lives.
People who like many things find every day exciting.
If you're interested, let's dig into it.
If it's not fun, you can do something else.
Even when you feel a little bored, try to hold on for a while.
Because it can be fun when you get better at it.
I've been doing that too, and I've been creating my work in a direction that I like.
You can do it too.
“I hope you try more exciting and fun things than I did.” (Page 25)
“Don’t limit yourself to one thing.
Don't limit others to one thing.
Let us live each day true to ourselves, existing in many forms.
Then I will be able to know what I like and what I enjoy doing.” (p. 154)
Be happy today as well as tomorrow!
A book that teaches a flexible and healthy attitude
Young people are often asked to postpone present happiness for future happiness, such as 'go to a good school later' or 'get a good job later'.
However, young people are beings who live not only for tomorrow but also for today, and they deserve to be happy today.
This book contains guidance on career paths, but it also talks a lot about today as well as tomorrow.
It makes me realize that exploring what excites and brings joy to me today is the first step to discovering my career path.
Teenagers become different people every year and grow up with different dreams every year.
Author Dahye Lee advises young readers not to define themselves too easily, saying that what they are good at and what they like can vary greatly.
It also touches on the anxiety and burden that teenagers feel, such as feeling like “everyone is running hurriedly to their seats” while “I’m standing in a place I don’t even know where I am,” and offers warm and meaningful advice.
This book is full of guidance on how to live a flexible and healthy life.
The insights contained in author Dahye Lee's brisk sentences leave a deep impression and strengthen the heart.
“It’s easier to recognize other people’s talents.
If you look at it with an objective perspective.
(…) When we think about our own talents or future, we think about a complex array of circumstances.
"Are you worried about how much your parents will support you? Are you embarrassed that your grades are above average (even though you tell your friends you don't study), but in reality, you study very hard? Do you feel like you're struggling because of circumstances you know others don't? If you imagine everyone else is having it easy, I want to tell you that everyone faces difficult and challenging situations." (p. 66)
“When your mind becomes dark, take it out into the warm sunlight and dry it until it is fluffy.
How do you stop feeling like this? Just do what you love.
To do that, you need to know what you like.
When I get bored of studying, I listen to my favorite songs and go back to studying.
When you feel depressed, relieve stress by doing your favorite exercise or eating your favorite food.
I know myself best, so let's do a lot of good things for myself.
Let's make a promise.
“Let’s take good care of ourselves!” (page 104)
