Publisher's Review
Do you think veterinarians only treat sick animals? While they primarily treat sick animals, there are many places in the world where veterinarians are needed.
We show you the world of veterinarians, who perform essential tasks in every corner of our lives, from dairy companies and pharmaceutical companies to government offices and zoos.
---
I'm busy at the hospital today and resting at home.
We gave the cute two-month-old creature a shot and pampered him to his heart's content, and informed the 13-year-old grandmother that the puppy doesn't have much time left.
Animal hospitals are truly places where joy, sorrow, and pleasure coexist.
Being a veterinarian is a great career for anyone who loves animals.
There are many things you can do for animals, many of which only veterinarians can do.
We need to diagnose the disease by getting as many hints as possible from animals that cannot speak.
It's hard, like being a detective, but it's so rewarding to see an animal get healthy after proper diagnosis and treatment.
I've dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since I was little, so living as a veterinarian now feels like a dream and I'm happy.
Would you like to listen to my story now?

Please tell me about the job of a veterinarian.
We generally say that a veterinarian is someone who treats animals.
But that's too simplistic a view of veterinarians.
Anywhere that has to do with animals is a place where a veterinarian can work.
In addition to pets, veterinarians also treat industrial animals such as cows, pigs, and chickens.
Also, since they work with edible meat and milk that are served on our tables every day, dairy companies that are generally known always employ veterinarians.
And you can work for cosmetics and various other companies that conduct animal testing, and companies that produce animal feed and pharmaceutical companies that develop medicines also need veterinarians.
What is the outlook for the veterinary profession in our country?
Of course, if you become a veterinarian, there are many places you can work and your income is guaranteed to some extent.
Nowadays, there are so many things that a veterinarian can do that many people don't just think about animal hospitals but also start their own businesses.
These days, the trend is that 'food made by veterinarians' and 'medicine selected by veterinarians' are also popular.
There are many cases where people get a license and then plan a business.
There are also systems where cat sitters come to your home and take care of your cat, saying, "A vet will take care of it," or where students come to your home and spend time with your dog professionally, just like tutoring.
I think the future outlook is good in many ways as the pet market becomes more specialized and sophisticated.
Do I need to be good at math and science to get into veterinary school?
Math and science are subjects that receive a grade of 1.
And when you come to veterinary school, you say that it's hard and that studying is too much.
I had to memorize the names of each part in English according to their anatomical structure, but it felt so unfamiliar.
It was the hardest because it was a word I had never seen before, since it was not at the level of English we usually learn in the CSAT English, but rather an academic title.
You learn that in the first or second year of the course.
So, if you have a little more interest in language and know a little more about it, it will be much better for you to study in veterinary medicine.
What kind of personality types would it be a good fit for?
Usually, the people who find it most difficult are those who have trouble speaking.
When I interview people at a hospital, they don't make eye contact.
I need to have a conversation, but I can't see the other person.
Then it will be very difficult to get treatment.
It's a job where you have to constantly talk to people, and especially listening to what their guardians have to say is very important.
Since animals cannot speak, they need to be able to communicate freely with their guardians to obtain a lot of information.
It is a very important part of providing treatment.
It also affects reliability.
I saw quite a few friends like that when I was attending veterinary school.
Those friends might be a good fit for research, so they go to government agencies that need veterinarians as civil servants, or they go to research positions at organizations or companies.
