The author of 'Gorang Sundae', who has presented many short and medium-length comics to readers through the post type 'Gorang Sundae Theater' and Naver blog 'Gorang Sundae', has finally published a collection of his works as a single volume.

The works of author Gorang Sundae began to attract much attention when his work “Rationalization,” published in 2019, became a hot topic.

This work, known as the so-called 'schizophrenia comic', is a work that greatly demonstrates the unique strengths of Gorang Sundae.
The sharp, precise points that hit the subject, the ingenious twists, the long aftertaste… and even the eye-catching artwork left a deep impression.

If you first look at the work of artist Go Rang-sun, you will get a strange feeling.
In the Korean comics market where full-color webtoons are the trend, the drawings of artist Gorang Sundae, drawn with only lines and tones without any coloring, and with the rough feel of the dots standing out, can be said to be unique at best, or amateur at worst.

But that amateurish, crudeness actually fits well with the world depicted by the writer Gorang Sundae.
Most of the works of author Gorang Sundae contain fantasy elements and have a horror and thriller feel, but they are nevertheless realistic.
It is persuasive and vivid.

The works of author Gorang Sundae are divided into special series, including uncategorized short stories, the ♡Healing♡ series, the Gray Mystery House series, FILM OF NIGHT, and Onomatopoeia.
This first volume includes works categorized under the FILM OF NIGHT category, including “Turtle Soup,” “Film Maniac,” “Ghost Story,” and “Daily Role,” which is being released to the world for the first time.
This is a work that attracted a lot of attention when it was published, and it is a work that author Gorang Sundae wanted to include in his first book.

Unfortunately, the author of Gorang Sundae passed away in August 2024 while preparing the book.
I was unable to publish any new work.
However, there are many manuscripts that were prepared with sincerity but were never published.
Some of these works are unfinished or are only available in written form, not illustrated, but as the collection accumulates, these works will also see the light of day.

The charm of Goreng Sundae can be felt only by its simple appearance.
It's not a lighthearted story.
But the story is too powerful to dismiss Goreng Sundae's work based on first impressions alone.



The publication of this volume goes beyond simply showing the world the book my child was unable to complete.
I wanted to give those who have cherished and waited for Goreng Sundae the opportunity to encounter his work again in paperback form.
The book contains works that have been published online (blogs, post types, etc.) as well as unpublished manuscripts.
It was sad that I could no longer tell new stories, but I wanted to share at least one more of what he left behind. By editing the works I'd seen on the web, piece by piece, into a comic book format, I hoped these small stories would once again find warmth in the form of a book.
