To you who I want to find
Description
Book Introduction
Jegal Incheol, Korea's first book musician who has brought books, music, and people together by interpreting books as music, has provided life advice for young people.
He said that he wanted to “tell in a fun way that there is a path in books” to young people who have lost their dreams and hopes. In this book, he shares stories and life lessons he has seen, heard, and personally experienced with students who are seeking their own paths.
These case studies, perfectly suited to teenagers' perspectives, are the result of truly listening to the concerns of teenagers we've met in person through thousands of school lectures.
Just as a guitar given to me by my father's friend when I was young led me to the path of becoming a North American musician, this book will also become a beacon that brightly illuminates the path of youth moving forward into the future.

Into the book
Someone next to me plays a role in changing the direction of my life little by little.
A person's life can lead down tens of millions of paths.
The path is changing direction little by little due to someone or something next to me.
Whichever way you go, it is a precious journey of life.
So someone or something next to me is precious.
--- p.20
The true value of life is not in the results.
If life is judged by mere results, if the countless coincidences that create life determine our worth, then our sincerity, our efforts, and our good deeds become meaningless.
So the value of life lies in the process of acquiring something and the traces we leave along the way.
--- p.48~49
The guitar, nicknamed the 'little orchestra', has six strings.
Of these, the string that produces the lowest notes is the thickest and most coarse.
Conversely, the strings that produce high, beautiful sounds are thin strings with a refined appearance.
Low degrees come from thick lines.
The thick, rough strings create a sound that runs far away.
Low degrees are the best starting point.
--- p.73
Everyone has at least one value that is most precious to them.
It may seem like nothing to others, but you must protect your own values.
No matter what happens, I never give up my values.
There is no weapon more powerful than that to conquer the world.
--- p.86
Everyone who has reached the top has their own story.
These are the people who incorporated that story into their work.
Having your own story is an important requirement in this era.
That story contains all the knowledge and skills I've accumulated over the years, as well as the precious values that only I possess.
--- p.113
Never treat your existence lightly.
Don't abandon the world, but leave the place that doesn't treat you as a person.
Start small, step by step, with people who care for you and love you in other places.
As I moved from darkness to light, I realized there were so many people who needed me.
--- p.127
We are all like green fruits that grow and mature through wind and rain.
So we have to discover the green hidden in each other's light green.
Dear people of the world, don't bow your heads.
You are the protagonists who will make the world green.
Do not envy or fear the fruit that will soon rot and fall.

Publisher's Review
· “I believed in my dream.
“I believed that dream would never abandon me.”
Jegal Incheol, a North Korean musician who still writes and sings dreams
A career exploration guide for young people moving forward into tomorrow!
Jegal In-cheol, who showed a unique perspective on life through literature in his first book, “Literature is Song,” has published a career exploration essay for young people.
Just as literature has always been a “mirror of life” to him, through this book he hopes to brightly illuminate the possibilities and future of young people seeking their own paths.
As the story says, “The knowledge and various abilities I have accumulated over time, as well as the precious values that only I possess, are all combined into one,” it conveys life lessons gleaned from its own story, while also guiding children to write their own stories in the future.
His uniquely honest and humorous writing style and the sparkling insights he gained from experiencing life firsthand serve as practical guidance to young people contemplating their dreams and career paths.
Just as he advised that the most important thing in life is the thought, will, and movement toward a dream, this book will serve as a strong assistant to help students think about their own dreams, strengthen their will to pursue them, and move forward vigorously toward them.
· “No matter which direction you take, it is a precious journey of life.”
13 Life Advice for Young People Finding Their Dreams and Careers
The author argues that as we live, we “lose something every day,” from our smallest possessions to the tomorrow that will come, and that is why we search for something even more desperately.
From ‘someone next to me’ who will change the direction of my life, to ‘the voice of my heart’, ‘my own story’, ‘a wider world’, ‘my own path’… … , so where and how can we find them?
This book tells the story of how today's youth can grasp the values they desperately seek through countless 'stories' the author has seen, heard, and experienced.
Beyond offering formulaic advice, it draws on a wide range of lessons and values, drawing on books by Korean authors like Kim Hoon, Seong Seok-je, Kim Ae-ran, and Kim Seon-yeong, as well as classic works by Hemingway, the film Les Misérables, and anecdotes from renowned figures at home and abroad, including Lee Guk-jong, Hwang Jae-geun, and Buena Vista Social Club.
Not only does he share his own authentic stories of his school days, he also provides step-by-step guidance on specific methods to help you find your career path.
Just as the author, who had been going through a dark period in his life, encountered literature and music and pioneered a second life as a 'book musician,' children who come across this book will also be able to find a breakthrough in their lives with the 13 pieces of life advice he offers.
“A dream begins with a thought, grows with a will, and becomes concrete with movement.
Thought, will, and movement—these three keys will open every door before you, no matter which path you take.
So please, don't lose sight of the potential within you, and envision great things that will benefit humanity and astonish the world."
Author's Note
“I have set out before you and have wandered along many paths, seeking what I desire.
Sometimes wandering wasn't about getting lost, but rather about finding a new path.
I also discovered things I hadn't thought of in it.
To those of you who have eyes even more eager than I did before, I'd like to introduce some ways to find a bright today and a great tomorrow.
“I want to set out with you as a person still pursuing my dream, not as an adult who has already reached a certain point and can take a breather.”
