The widest road is always in my heart
Description
Book Introduction
“On days like that,
Go forward silently, holding a broom and clearing the snow.
“Because the widest road is always in my heart.”
Touching the hearts of countless test takers
2024 College Scholastic Ability Test handwriting verification text "The Widest Road" included!
Poet Yang Gwang-mo, who depicts life in everyday language, has published a collection of poems titled “The Widest Road is Always in My Heart.”
We also included “The Widest Road,” a phrase that impressed many test takers when checking their college entrance exam scores.
Like a cheer for you who has been running without rest for a long time.
The poet has compiled a collection of poems that have touched and lifted the heart, moments he has found in his daily life.
In an interview with JoongAng Ilbo, the poet said that he had taken the college entrance exam four times.
After a short career, he tried his hand at starting a business and even ran for local elections, but things didn't go as planned.
There were times when he was disappointed and regretful because the results were different from his expectations, but the poet still got up, vowing not to “sit down on the road” (“The Road”).
If I thought, “When I meet darkness, I will open the darkness, and when I meet sadness, I will open the sadness” (“Open the Starlight”), somehow my life went on, and the events before my eyes felt like something I could somehow get through without getting hurt.
So that even if you get lost, you can find your way
A poem that comforts and awakens the heart
One day I stopped on the road
When I look back on the path I've already traveled
May a flower bloom in your heart
One day I stopped on the road
When looking at the road still to be walked
May a sun rise in your heart
― From “One Day, Standing on the Road”
This collection of poems contains the poet's way of life that he has been pondering over for a long time.
Even if one day in life one gets drenched in rain and wanders the streets, the poet wrote, “I will live with a sunflower blooming yellow in my heart” (“Sunflower”).
Even if the surroundings are covered in snow or buried in darkness, the “widest road” we wish to follow is always “in our hearts” (“The Widest Road”).
While living
When you think you've hit rock bottom
A place where people can lie down and rest
That it's the floor, not the ceiling
took a break
That means go again
― The “bottom” part
Even if the path we take is winding or bumpy, the feeling that a path is created in the direction we walk permeates the entire collection of poems.
In “The Poet’s Words,” the poet refers to the future as an unknown continent.
A place you can't know unless you go there yourself.
So the poet wrote, “To be alive is to have a reason to live,” and said, “To live is to complete the reason to live” (“There is still more reason to live”).
How can I better manage and nurture my life and the world around me?
I hope that you will find in this collection of poems the complete story of a journey of finding one's way even when lost.
