Into the book
Bali has a tourist-like appearance centered around the airport in the south, and each area has its own unique character.
South of the airport, you'll find a cluster of large resorts, magnificent ocean views, and blue Indian Ocean beaches.
If you go north of the airport, you will find Kuta, a city of surfers, Seminyak with its many restaurants and shops, and Ubud with its lush forests and fields…
As you venture further out from here, the number of travelers decreases significantly, and unspoiled nature unfolds, while the people become more hospitable.
Gili and Lombok, a comfortable two-hour boat ride from Bali, offer a sea, fields, and mountains even greener and wilder than Bali.

--- From "Bali, how far have you been?"

Bali's charm can also be found underwater.
There are good diving spots such as the world-famous islands of Menjangan, Tulamben, and Penida.
If diving feels a bit too much, you can head to the sea where snorkeling alone will provide satisfaction (Munjangan Island, Penida Island, Amet).
You can try it in the waters off Nusa Dua, but the satisfaction level is not very high.
Penida Island, which can be reached by boat from Sanur, is not far from the main island, and the sea is also beautiful.
(…) If you love the sea, it would be a good idea to pack a diving or snorkeling backpack and travel around various areas of Bali.
--- From "Let's go on an underwater adventure~ Snorkeling and diving!"

In Bali, there are many privately owned villas as well as the commonly known hotel (resort) type accommodations.
Accommodations in Bali range in size from one to ten bedrooms, some with private pools, and a wide range of price points.
If there are more than 4 people staying and you need more than 2 rooms, it would be a good idea to look into a private villa.

Padang Padang Beach
This small beach became even more famous after being featured in the film Eat, Pray, Love, starring Julia Roberts.
It used to be a quiet beach surrounded by large rocks, but now that more and more people are visiting, its charm has diminished a bit.
Padang Padang Beach, which is even more beautiful when viewed from the road above the beach, reveals its secret appearance only when you go down the stone steps between the cliffs.
There are a few street vendors selling snacks, but there are still no amenities to speak of.
The beautiful water and white sand beach are healing just to look at, and it is also a popular snorkeling spot.

Enjoy Bali
The perfect way to enjoy Bali

Healing in the open, cool beach and green nature!

Bali, a mysterious island with emerald blue beaches, a warm climate, beautiful nature, unique culture, and art, is a great place to visit any time of year thanks to its warm weather.
Many people choose Bali as a perfect vacation destination for honeymoons and healing trips, and it is also gaining popularity as a yoga destination because it offers an inexpensive and leisurely month-long stay.

"Bali Self-Travel" thoroughly covers major areas such as Kuta, Seminyak & Canggu, Ubud, and surrounding islands including Lombok, covering every nook and cranny of Bali.
In particular, before introducing the spots in earnest, it helps you understand the region quickly and easily by showing the characteristics of each region, how to get there, a checklist, and recommended one-day courses along with a detailed map.
Next, it shows attractions divided into categories such as activities, sightseeing, restaurants, shopping, and accommodations.

This revised edition includes significant revisions to essential information, including operating hours, directions, increased fares, and closures.
It also introduces Bali's representative spots, such as Padang Padang Beach, which was the setting for the movie "Eat, Pray, Love," and the mysterious Tanah Lot Temple, as well as hidden spots known only to locals.
Additionally, to help readers see the importance of a spot at a glance, tourist attractions are given a star rating (1-3 stars) and the remaining spots are marked as 'recommended'.

Easy-to-understand maps that don't require any navigational hassles

We've included a variety of maps to help first-time travelers easily get to their desired destination.
First, we laid out the Bali map so that you can see the main areas at a glance, and for each chapter, we placed a detailed map with the main spots displayed as icons for easy viewing.
In addition, a map of the Mount Rinjani trekking course is included, and you can conveniently use the 'portable mini map book' provided separately on site.

What are the must-do things to do in Bali? Activities? Massages? Or maybe even shopping? For those who don't want to miss a thing, we've put together "Mission in Bali."
From Bali's surf schools that captivate surfers from around the world, to eco-healing experiences where you can focus entirely on yourself while walking through nature, organic restaurants that will keep your body and mind healthy, Balinese food and drinks that taste even better when you know what you're eating, luxury spas and resorts, and the hottest beach clubs, there's plenty of great tips.
If you're pressed for time, you can fully enjoy Bali by reading this before your trip.

Easy and perfect travel planning just for you

In "Bali Self-Travel," we present four recommended itineraries for 5 nights and 6 days, allowing travelers to tailor them to their preferences.
These include 'My First Bali Trip', 'Sweet Honeymoon', 'A Brilliant Family Trip', and 'Solo Backpacking Trip'. Rather than exploring multiple areas of Bali at once, we suggest a trip where you stay in two places for two or three nights each.
If you have no idea how to plan your schedule, you can refer to this to easily plan your schedule.
In addition, there are also basic tours for beginners departing from Ubud or Kuta as a 'daily guided vehicle tour', and vehicle tours that tour major tourist attractions from Ubud to Ahmet.

Step to Bali
Quick and easy travel preparation

The latter part of the book provides detailed information on Bali, including general information about the process of departing from Incheon International Airport, filling out customs declaration forms, and using duty-free shops, as well as other areas that may be confusing for novice travelers.
It also includes detailed information on local transportation, including metered taxis, motorcycle taxis, rental cars, and buses.

With the concept of 'D-60 for Travel', it shows you every step of the travel preparation process, from getting a passport to packing, and even includes basic English and Indonesian conversation that can be used right away when you go there.
Let's take a look at the latest and most valuable information from every corner of Bali, discovered by two authors who have joined forces.
