Book Introduction
Slow down your daily life like a traveler
Things that are not new are new

"Slow Daily Life" is a eulogy of slowness by Shin Eun-hye, who wrote the Airbnb slogan "Travel is living," and awakens the sparkle of every moment sealed in familiarity.
It makes us realize that even ordinary daily life is like a wildflower that is 'pretty when looked at slowly and lovely when looked at for a long time.'
Even the market, where you usually just buy what you need and then turn back, becomes an existence no less than an art gallery in a tourist destination, and the natural sun, clouds, and sunsets that rise and set every day become special in a tourist destination.
Dull senses are revived, and things that were not new become new.
Even in my ordinary daily life, when I look at it again, there is nothing that does not shine.
Behind the saying, ‘Travel is like living’ lies the idea that ‘everyday life is like a trip.’

Publisher's Review
When you just feel like resting
Slow Hawaii

There was a time when I was worried that I would be left behind, so I spent my time trying to go high and far quickly.
As we live, there are times when we need to go straight ahead, but there comes a time when we realize that we can't always do that.
If you ever find yourself thinking, "I just want to rest," it's because you're exhausted and trying to get through the maze instead of moving quickly.

I used to love books, but at some point, reading became stressful because I was always looking for copywriting phrases. And every morning, I would rush to work before my hair was even dry, so I wondered what my neighborhood looked like.
One day, in the midst of my daily life where I was worried about what would happen if the copy I wrote was accepted, and even more discouraged if it wasn't accepted, it suddenly crossed my mind.
"I just want to rest." Normally, I would live like a diligent worker who wouldn't even buy a single t-shirt carelessly, but I made a bold decision, prepared slowly, and left.
To Hawaii.

Savor the Ordinary
I am a traveler of every moment

I used to think that the only thing you could watch in one place for hours was television.
Until I saw the Hawaiian sunset.
By slowing down, I no longer feel bad about missing the bus, and I can enjoy the unexpected scenery I discover rather than getting annoyed when I get off at the next stop.
These were the most ordinary moments: feeling the fresh morning air, looking at the stars, borrowing books from the library, and cooking for myself.
These were things that could be done even if you weren't in Hawaii.
So I brought my Hawaiian habits to Seoul.

Now, I cherish and love every moment of my daily life, chewing it carefully and savoring it slowly.
On my way home from work, I walked around like a local traveler, and then went back to being a worker, but I'm no longer impatient.
When you slow down your mind, you become a daily traveler.
