Book Introduction
If the Korean Peninsula didn't have Jeju, if Jeju didn't have oreums, how dull would the Korean Peninsula and Jeju be? Jeju, the most exotic and attractive island on the Korean Peninsula, probably owes 90% of its scenery to oreums.
A mountain that exists only in Jeju Island, which tells us that Jeju Island is a volcanic island.
Author Park Seon-jeong of "Living in Jeju for a Year" has captured all of her experiences exploring the oreums she has accumulated while living in Jeju, along with images that cannot be seen anywhere else.
Not only will you find lovely hand-drawn maps and stunning photos, but as you read Park Seon-jeong's loving stories about the mountains, you'll find yourself discovering "my own mountain" that you'll eventually fall in love with, even though you've never been there.

Publisher's Review
The upside is always right.
Full of detailed and rich information that you can't find anywhere else.
Korea's only mountain trekking guidebook.
But before that, what captivates us is the alluring climb itself.
'The rise is right'.
Publication of a revised edition, not a reprint
For this reason, it has been two years since the publication of 『Up Up』, which has been consistently loved.
Although the mountain remains the same, changes, big and small, continue to occur in the surrounding area.
New trails are being created, new trails are being built, and transportation is changing…
So, instead of a reprint, we prepared a revised edition.
I re-climbed all the included climbs and re-drawn the map to reflect the changes, and I also checked the surrounding conditions and transportation to reflect all the changes.
It's a revised edition.
『Up Up』 is not a fixed, unchanging book, but rather a work in progress that continuously reflects changing circumstances.
The One and Only Jeju Olle Trekking Guidebook
Who doesn't love the beauty of mountaineering? The books currently published on mountaineering are filled with breathtaking photos of these beautiful peaks, as well as laudatory odes to their beauty.
So, what are the essential features of the mountain that those who actually want to climb it need to know? How to get there, how to climb, when it's at its most beautiful, what to prepare, and what to avoid? No one tells you.
It contains almost all the information and know-how necessary to climb with your own legs and see and feel the climb with your own eyes, rather than relying on someone else's experience.
-What does the slope look like?
Most of the peak is hidden by dense forest, making it difficult to gauge its overall shape.
So, no matter how high-performance a drone is, it is almost impossible to see its cross-section.
The author personally climbed up and down the mountain countless times, step by step, to discover its beautiful face, and of course, he drew its bare face himself.
The first public appearance of the adorable and unique face of Orim has been revealed.
-Oreum, how do I get there?
Except for a few popularly known peaks, it is nearly impossible to find all the peaks spread across Jeju Island on your first visit.
In particular, getting there by public transportation alone is almost a 'challenge'.
After countless trials and errors and trying out various routes, the author finally found and organized the best way to reach the desired mountain by car as well as public transportation.
-Oreum, when and how is the best time to climb?
Every climb is different.
We've compiled the unique features of each climb, as well as the trekking order, course, necessary equipment, amenities, required time, and precautions.
In particular, they kindly inform women whether it is safe for them to climb alone and whether children and the elderly can also use the bathhouse.
There are so many attractive mountain peaks, but for those who have limited time and cannot decide which one to climb, we have put together [1 Day Trekking].
This is the most efficient itinerary to trek multiple peaks with different charms.
-A special climb for a special day!
The same climb gives a different feeling each time depending on the season, time, weather, and the climber's condition.
So, we have selected the most attractive climbs based on the theme, such as specific weather, specific time, specific atmosphere, etc.
You can find the best climb that suits your mood and the conditions at the time of your visit.
-That's not the only mountain in Jeju, is it?
In addition to the climbs introduced in the text, we have collected new climbs and surrounding forests that can be trekked.
Let's use it to plan our trekking itinerary.
