Walking the Millennium Road of Silla
Silla, Walking the Path of a Thousand Years
Description
Book Introduction
There are countless books published in the world,
This book is a little special.

This is because it is a book compiled by seven executives who have been studying at Gyeongju Museum University for three years, marking the end of their journey.

When we entered the introductory course of the Gyeongju Museum University in 2023, we were just ordinary people who loved Gyeongju and were curious about the Silla people who lived in this land.
I was frustrated by the unfamiliar archaeological terms and the endless list of site names, and sometimes the artifacts behind the glass cases felt like nothing more than cold blocks of stone.
However, through the one-year basic course and the two-year research course that followed, we gradually changed and grew.

Beyond simply acquiring knowledge, I gained a deeper understanding of history and culture, and learned how to converse with and understand the artifacts in the museum.
I was able to step into the living, breathing world of history, which had previously existed only in words in books, and listen to the stories of the people who lived in that era.
The relics and ruins we encountered through countless field trips are no longer just traces of the past, but have become precious meanings that speak to us living in the present.

Publisher's Review
This book is a field trip essay written by our seven executives, concluding three years of study at Gyeongju Museum University, bringing together the stories of seven colors.

The field trip reviews and in-depth reflections, each written from their own perspectives, each have their own unique color, but they are all connected by the main thread of "a love of history and a love of Gyeongju."
Beyond simple information transmission, we have included traces of our own experiences and concerns.
I hope that those who read this book will feel the breath of history with us and discover the joy of seeing Gyeongju in a deeper and more meaningful way.
Furthermore, I sincerely hope that this book will serve as another source of inspiration for your life.

A three-year journey of learning, walking, and enlightenment in the millennial city of Gyeongju.

"Silla, Walking the Path of a Thousand Years" is a special historical travel essay compiled by seven executives of the Gyeongju Museum University after three years of study and fieldwork.
This book is neither a scholar's thesis nor a simple guide.
This is a report of the experiences of those who have truly recorded the 'emotions seen and felt on site', and a record of human thought that has encountered the breath of Silla's thousand years.

The awe and enlightenment felt while walking along the quiet ridge of the royal tomb, climbing the serene stone steps of Bulguksa Temple, and encountering the light of Seokguram Grotto are all captured in this book.
The relics in the book are no longer cold stones.
It is revived as a ‘living history’ that speaks across a thousand years and moves hearts.
