Job training for long-term daycare workers
Description
Book Introduction
As long-term unemployed training has become mandatory since March 1, 2020, childcare workers who have been out of the childcare industry for more than two years must complete long-term unemployed job training before employment.
This is to improve the professionalism of long-term unemployed workers through retraining and prevent a decline in the quality of childcare services.
The field of early childhood education and childcare is undergoing a period of upheaval, with the introduction of the revised Nuri Curriculum in 2019, the 4th Standard Childcare Curriculum for Daycare Centers in 2020, the reorganization of the evaluation system in 2024, and the integration of preschool and kindergarten in 2025.
This change will place a significant burden on childcare workers who have been away from childcare settings for some time as they struggle to return to work.
The authors of this textbook focused on the following points in hopes of alleviating the burden of returning to work for long-term unemployed workers and contributing to strengthening the capabilities of childcare workers.
First, we have included the latest data reflecting the changes in the field of early childhood education and childcare, enabling you to learn about the changing work and technological environment and adapt to the field quickly.
Second, since childcare workers are responsible for the first stage of life education, they require a wealth of theoretical knowledge and experience, so we wanted to include practical cases centered on the field.
Third, videos and materials related to the content of the textbook were inserted into the textbook as QR codes so that they could be used immediately on site.
Fourth, we included training content that improves professionalism by considering the connection with the current job training and reflecting the characteristics of the trainees who have not worked in childcare settings for a long time.
Fifth, as the number of infants and toddlers experiencing developmental difficulties increases, we sought to enhance our on-site implementation capabilities to support them.
We hope that this textbook will enhance the professionalism of childcare workers who have not worked in childcare for a long time, helping them adapt quickly to the field and perform their duties with confidence and a sense of belonging.
