Publisher's Review
The third edition of 『School Counseling and Life Guidance』 reflects the changes in Korea's school counseling system since the second edition.
In particular, the Wee Project, which can be said to be a Korean-style school counseling model, was introduced in relatively detail, and the latest information on the hiring and placement of professional counseling teachers was provided.
Chapter 4 has updated the data on the changed system and statistics to the latest ones, and added career counseling theories that have recently attracted attention.
Chapter 6 describes some recent research results added to the existing content.
Chapter 7 has been refined and revised to improve readability.
Chapter 9 is an introductory text primarily intended for undergraduate students, and to ensure that it can be applied to school settings, instead of the domestic research on group counseling in Section 4 of the second edition, it includes the characteristics and preparation procedures of group counseling conducted in schools.
Chapter 12 is completely rewritten.
Unlike when the first and second editions were published, there are now so many group counseling programs and activities available for use in schools that introducing individual activities has become less meaningful.
Instead, the third edition explains the benefits of small group life guidance programs, considerations for program development and selection (purpose, topic, developmental level, theoretical approach, specific situations, methods, and tools), and program development and evaluation procedures, thereby helping readers develop an insight into existing programs and activities and promoting the development of new programs.
