Description
Book Introduction
The perfect harmony of the New and Old Testaments, Daniel Class!
You can encounter it as a living word, not a myth, at the British Museum.

Written to secure the historicity of the Book of Daniel, this book provides insight into the essence of Christianity through artifacts from the British Museum.
The history of civilization, grafted onto the reading of the Bible, allows us to read today within the framework of challenge and response, and encounter the unfathomable wonder of God's plan for sending Daniel to the Babylonian Empire.
Beyond power and knowledge, the Book of Daniel touches Jeremiah's tears, connects with Ezekiel's visions, and resonates with Habakkuk's cries.
You can see this in the appendix, “Bible History at a Glance” and “Daniel Mind Map at a Glance.”

In the book of Daniel, a shadow of Christ appears.
The Son of God can be seen in the image of him with his people in the fiery furnace, and his existence as the Son of Man can be found.
As with the stigma of Christ, the Christ figure in Daniel was not stuffed.
That was the time when the most advanced Babylonian civilization existed and unprecedented empires such as Persia, Greece, and Rome emerged.
If God revealed His traces at that time, He will raise up ‘Daniels’ in the same way even now, in the age of big data and artificial intelligence.

Into the book
The writing of Daniel in the 2nd century BC is attested by archaeological finds from Babylon in the 6th century BC, and the 1st century AD Jewish historian Josephus also attributes his historicity to him.
--- p.21

If we look at the structure of challenge and response, we can see at a glance how God worked, and at the core of it all, we can see that He used the person named Daniel.

--- p.34

These are things that should not be in the Samaritan temple.
So the soldiers' faces are filled with laughter.
The temple of Yahweh was filled with things that Yahweh abhorred.

--- p.82

In Hall 55, you can see traces of the library of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria.
These artifacts were excavated in Iraq in 1849 by archaeologist Henry Layard, and contain over 30,000 ancient cuneiform documents, including the Epic of Gilgamesh.
--- p.98

God spoke his plan through Jeremiah.
Daniel was a key figure in that plan, and he confirmed God's plan in Babylon.
Why did God have to judge his people?
--- p.128

“Even if not” (Daniel 3:18) was the confession of Daniel’s three friends.
He made a firm confession that he would never place Marduk in the position of God, even if he had to die in the fire.

--- p.169

The concerns of the modern church, which is building the Tower of Babel, are not much different from the concerns of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky regarding the 'orthodox' Russian Orthodox Church in the 19th century.
Dostoevsky's immortal masterpiece written during that period is Crime and Punishment.

--- p.189

Daniel is thrown into the lions' den because he served Yahweh instead of Ahura Mazda.
The expression 'entered the lion's den' may seem like a fairy tale, but we should not forget that the seal of Darius I featured a lion.
--- p.209

Daniel's advice is consistent with what Jeremiah cried out in Jerusalem:
The message to protect orphans, widows, strangers, and the poor, and to practice justice and righteousness was Jeremiah's sermon, repeated through Daniel.
