Publisher's Review
Psychology is a discipline that lies between biological science and social science, and can be said to be a fundamental discipline that connects sociology, humanities, and natural science.
In particular, as society becomes more complex and diversified, psychology has solidified its position as a fundamental discipline for understanding and predicting phenomena in various academic and industrial fields, such as law, economics, business administration, design, and the Internet.
In addition, psychological interest is growing in relation to crimes and disasters, which have recently appeared in various forms and are receiving social attention.

This interest is no exception in universities, and not only students majoring in psychology, but also students majoring in various fields such as natural sciences, medicine, arts, humanities, business administration, and engineering are showing considerable interest and curiosity in psychology.
Recently, the number of college students double-majoring or minoring in psychology and students hoping to major in psychology in graduate school has been increasing explosively.
Because students taking psychology courses come from a variety of majors, it is difficult to teach in depth the relationship between psychology and each student's major. Furthermore, explaining the complex theories of psychology to students who want to study easy, everyday topics with a light heart can be burdensome.

Although it is difficult to satisfy all of the students' course objectives, the translators proceeded with the translation, judging that the original book, Mastering the World of Psychology, possesses both specialized and general education characteristics.
So the first book published was the 3rd edition, and this book is the 5th edition with the same title.
This new edition, as the original authors of the book state in their preface, contains various changes to the book's structure, particularly the inclusion of a significant number of recent studies.
