Description
Book Introduction
Peter Heff was born a healthy son in a rural farming family in Germany.
Until he was three, his family didn't know he was born with a hearing impairment, thinking he was just a little late in learning to speak.
Peter Heff learned to communicate with the world through sign language at a boarding school for deaf children and became a mechanic assembling machines, but he was not satisfied with his work.
He goes to a monastery and barely finds peace of mind, but is faced with the ordeal of his eyesight getting worse.
At the age of twenty-nine, he was completely blinded after his hearing impairment, and he despaired at finding himself unable to do anything on his own.

In Peter Heff's stories, there is an alchemy that transforms loss, despair, and darkness into hope and light.
This inner cry, written with the pain of absolute loneliness, depicts the process of finding one's identity by making peace with oneself and gaining the insight to see the unseen instead of the visible.
Peter Heff believed that there was something in the world he had to do when he was at his most unhappy.
Born disabled, converted to religion, met true love, married, and became a deacon, his life journey gives courage and hope to all, and teaches us how to live a life of seeing, feeling, gratitude, and sharing.
The human spirit, which does not succumb to double obstacles but rather sublimates them, cannot help but inspire pilgrims of wisdom who seek the meaning of life and the meaning of suffering.

Into the book
I was on crutches, deaf, and had poor eyesight, but I had no reason to give up.
I just had to accept the fate that had been given to me and break free from society's constraints on people with disabilities.
In particular, I had to escape from the prison of my mind that was imprisoning me.
I promised myself.
'Peter Heff, you can do it.
There is still hope.
Okay, now let's start by not being lazy and always staying alert!'

My life up to now, my existence up to now, the ego that has controlled me up to this moment, all of it has disappeared and I am starting a new life.
God will take care of me, and from now on I will no longer exist for myself in this world, but for those who need me!
